There are 2 cabins that are pretty close to eachother. The cabins are really cosy, amidst banana trees. They are located in a yard, surrounded by walls. So a minor downside of the place is that it does not have a sea/nature view. The place is really close to one of the best beaches of Sao Miguel (Praia Santa Barbara), and well located to explore the island. The kitchen is well equipped and the shower is great. Self check-in was easy and Mario is very nice and helpful.

I loved staying at the Bananas Lodge, the green cabin is as charming as can be, surrounded by banana trees and a terrace which is the perfect spot to hang out or have a picnic. I just felt it is a very special place and an unique experience to stay there. The Lodge is spacious and has a large comfy bed, equipped mini kitchen, private bathroom with shower, as well as an outdoor shower. The large window in front of the bed has a view of the tropical garden, and the connection with nature is intense. Self check in was extremely easy, Mario provides a code and you can retrieve the keys to the lodge. We were lucky to meet him there during check in and he was super helpful to provide a list of things to do and eat around the neighbourhood. The location in Riberia Grande is ideal, 10 minutes drive from many must-see spots like the Cascata do Cabrito waterfall, Caldeira Verde hot spring, and Santa Barbara Beach. Its walking distance minutes away from the famous steak place at the Associacao Agricola de Sao Miguel. Easy to park for free right outside the lodge.

Vinimos de vacaciones mi pareja y yo y encontramos esta joya donde nos quedamos por 10 días y la verdad que el sitio es único y mágico muy limpio todo lleno de detalles tranquilo un lugar perfecto para desconectar de todo también perfecto para sentirte como en casa 🏠 sus propietarios muy atentos y amables siempre al cuidado de todo es un lugar que recomendamos no se arrepentirán esta cerca de supermercados farmacia playas tiendas y lo mejor de todo playas para surfear por eso de volver repetiremos 🤙🏽 muchas gracias por todo de corazón ✌🏽 esperamos volver a vernos 🌴

Mi pareja Alexander y yo decidimos pasar nuestra estancia en São Miguel en estos fantásticos bungalows. Filippa y Mário,sus propietarios, son absolutamente encantadores y hospitalarios, siempre disponibles para resolverte cualquier duda o situación. Los bungalows están construidos y decorados por ellos mismos y solo se puede decir que tienen un gusto exquisito, todo simple,funcional y precioso, desde el minuto 1 nos sentimos como en nuestra en casa , este lugar es perfecto para pasar una romántica estancia en pareja, con zonas verdes, tu jardín para los desayunos o cenas ... todo a pedir de boca. Además está súper bien ubicado, imprescindible moverse en coche por la isla, a 20 minutos del aeropuerto, a 15 de pinta delgada , en el centro de muchas rutas verdes y al lado de playas de surfing como la De Santa Barbara, Monte Verde o Santa Iria. Nuestra estancia ha sido espectacular, sin duda repetiremos y volveremos a visitaros Filipa,Mario y Matilde, gracias por ayudar a que estas vacaciones hayan sido MÁGICAS. MUITO OBRIGADA! After searching for cabin/lodge accommodation in Sao Miguel I came across these amazing lodges. The photos were wonderful and the place lives up to them 100%. Filipa and Mario were very welcoming and approachable and extremely helpful. Great location for exploring the island and an amazing beach just up the road by car. A very relaxing place to feel close to nature and away from it all.

I booked this accomodation as the pictures were just so inviting! We loved it! It has a relaxed beach feel (although not on the beach) and the 2 cabins are created and decorated to a very high standard, you can see a lot of attention to detail and love has gone into it. The bungalows are in a lovely garden with outdoor seating area and access to bbq, set back behind a traditional stone wall. It is a couple min drive to Santa Barbara beach, and Ribeira Grande is also only about 5 min drive where you have a big choice of restaurants and infrastructure. There is a very good restaurant in walking distance from the bungalows. Mario and Filippa were so welcoming and friendly and have plenty of tips if you have any questions. Nothing is very far on the island and the location is great, a lot of sights are within close driving distance and Ponta Delgada and the airport also only about 20 min drive. Would love to stay again and would definitely recommend it!
