I want to say thank you to the lovely Family. I enjoy my stay at the Banana leaf to the fullest. Awesome Food and so friendly People. After 3 Weeks i was feeling at home. TukTuk drive whenever i need, a bike for rent and a lot of extra Food to try. Also the Cooking Class for authentic rice &curry! Everybody need to do that! Just awesome and one of the best Curry i had in Sri Lanka. Also a good Place to relax after Surf Sessions and just 5 minutes from the Beach in the middle of Banana Leaf! I will come back for sure!

Good home stay. Walk to beach.
We stayed five nights. We loved it. Location is about 7 minute walk to the beach. This is a surfing area. We don't surf but liked the beach area. Very quiet at Banana Leaf Garden. Nice patio to sit outside. You'll need mosquito repellent. The host family are attentive and want you to have a good hospitable experience. We stayed in the air conditioned room which we needed. It can be hot. The father is so friendly and can take you by TukTuk where you want to go. He also picked up drinks, bottles of beer/alcohol and coke as we wanted. The food is excellent, homemade and the mother provides cooking classes. That was great. The son is very nice and speaks English, do it's easy to navigate what you want.

Best price-performance ratio & loveliest family so far.
Very lovely family who provides an allround service including excellent food (you must try the barbecue). Very beautiful place with banana plants and a lot of monkeys and mungos. They even have their own Tuk Tuk. The beach is just 5min Walkiing distance far away. Best price-performance ratio so far.

Looked clean and acceptable during day time viewing but at night it was truly horrible. Infested with big and small ants in the bathroom. You had to lift your legs off the floor when going to the loo or they tried climbing up your legs!
The bed was infested with silver fish type insects which scuttled away from underneath the pillows. Not conducive to a good night’s sleep!!
No toilet roll, no towel and no top sheet provided. The dining area had nothing provided.
The only good things were the bedroom fan and the lovely outside seating area.
