Begin your adventure as you survey the snow capped peaks from multiple expansive decks and patios encircling Ascent on the sunny westward-facing slopes of Ram's Horn Mountain in Windcliff Estates. See the views from above Ascent deck by looking at our live webcam page! Although Estes Park (Rocky Mountain National Park's gateway community) is only 4 minutes away by car, Ascent is set apart -- separated from the “hustle and bustle” of people and their traffic -- yet just a few minutes from restaurants, bars and the grocery store! The enclave of Windcliff Estates that embraces the “Ascent” residence is a private residential community, comprising 260 acres on the sunny western slopes of Rams Horn Mountain. Windcliff is served by a single entrance to private roads with no through streets or heavy traffic. It is truly a world apart here at Ascent. The Ascent Experience The architecture of the Ascent vacation rental home respects and embodies the mountains before which it so reverently stands. Ascending roof lines greet the heavens, leading every eye to that magic line on the horizon where the Western Continental Divide caresses the deep azure blue of the Colorado sky. The Divide is the backbone of Rocky Mountain National Park, which adjoins Windcliff as a cherished neighbor. The exterior is washed with muted earth tones. Rusted Corten steel takes on an intentional patina, complementing the rich wall of mahogany wood that graces the secluded outdoor patio. "Deck" only begins to describe Ascent's massive wrap-around main-level deck, which spans the entire western facade. Its size is hard to grasp until you arrive and see it for yourself. Spread before you in a 180-degree panorama is the grandeur of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Count the peaks and learn their names, for now they are friends for life. Moving to the interior, you'll be greeted by a welcoming, open great room featuring a 55-inch HDTV. If cooler breezes blow, a remote-controlled gas fireplace sports yellow flames dancing on crushed glass — further enhanced by LED lighting. Modern charging islands for phones and laptops abound. Ceilings far out of reach are supported by the wall of windows on the western facade, displaying an unequalled view of the mountains in all their grandeur. The Kitchen at Ascent The chef's kitchen in this one-of-a-kind home is brand-spanking new, fresh, and bright. Both it — and the breakfast/refreshment bar cozying up alongside — boast an unobstructed view of mountain peaks, which beckon in the distance. The dining area has front-row seats for the natural spectacle at hand... in every direction. A “break out” room downstairs is the perfect staging area for a trail hike or an indoor game. A gas barbeque waits on the veranda, prepped and primed when meals call for a little natural flame. Surely, a toast is in order! Lodging and Rest at the Ascent Vacation Rental Home A staircase of unconventional sturdiness — calling to mind Noah's Ark — ascends to the upper level of Ascent. But, no “two-by-two” is envisioned here. These stairs are intended for “two only” as vista-view windows lead to the private master suite tucked away upstairs. This fine suite could, and does, make rooms in any five-star hotel blush. Niches harbor objet d'art. The view from the king-sized bed is, suitably, "fit for a king." The air massage tub has its own picture window... and what a picture it presents! A colossal shower also stands at the ready. The closets and dressing room offer every amenity you could desire. You have everything you need to awake and arise to the new days at hand — perhaps including some freshly brewed coffee made in the suite's own compact kitchen. Step out onto the private corner-wrap balcony. You can hear the wind over the wing of a soaring eagle, taste the sky, or touch a rainbow from this place. A new day is indeed at hand, and *** is very close by and smiling. Up to eight can join in the reverie here at Ascent, between this secluded master suite and its accompaniment of 3 additional bedrooms. The Ascent of a Lifetime Long's Peak presides over Rocky Mountain National Park as its highest summit just south of Windcliff Estates and Chiappes' “Ascent.” It first felt the gentle pressure of human feet when pre-Columbian indigenous peoples scaled its heights in search of eagle feathers. Surveyors with the John Wesley Powell Expedition were the first European-Americans to stand at its summit and marvel, in 1868. There is plenty of “marveling” left to go around, and Long's Peak extends its invitation to one and all. But, whether or not you opt to tackle the challenging ascent routes of Long's Peak (14,259') dur

Absolutely Amazing from start to finish.
We Stayed at the Ascent for a mini family reunion and met other relatives who stayed in Windcliff properties also. We had room to have them to our place for a few meals and they in turn had room for us at the property they stayed at. I could not believe the views and the amazing wild life that came right on to the property we so enjoyed our stay and we had everything we needed to feel right at home. We had our adult kids and then our Grand children with us and when we left our Grand Daughter left her doll and when I called the staff sent someone to check for it and sure enough they found it and with in about 4 days it arrived at our door. Crisis averted and all ended well the staff was very helpful and we sure could not have been more pleased. We did lots of looking in the amazing shops in town and Daves Barbque and Tap house is the most amazing place to eat there is not one thing they serve that is not to die for. The park is just a short drive and there is always something to see there and the wildlife is spectacular would not have gone so early in may had we had a choice because it did snow while we were there but it was so pretty and it did not last to long nor keep us from enjoying the time there. The view from the Ascent was so beautiful and with the fire place going just the right touch. We would stay there again if given the chance

Best vacation rental we've ever used
I have been renting homes for week-long vacations for many years now, but this is the best rental we have ever stayed at. The house is gorgeous and looked like a show home for Restoration Hardware. The kitchen was very well equipped and even had a crock pot. Extra batteries, flashlights & light bulbs were readily available in case anything went out/wrong during our stay. There were snacks and a starter pack of coffee provided, which considering we arrived WAY later than expected and couldn't get to a grocery store until the next day were much appreciated. The staff at Windcliff was easy to work with and very friendly. We would not hesitate to stay here again and will recommend it to any friends heading out to Estes Park.

Wonderful modern home
Hubby and I stayed for 4 days and 3 nites. The home is well maintained and the owners have put a lot of thought into the design and concept. Very enjoyable stay with gorgeous views and close to downtown Estes.

Beautiful home with amazing views.
Ascent is a modern home, the metal and wood work through are gorgeous. The basement is great for kids or teens, with their own area, main floor has another bedroom and the entire top floor is the master suite. The tub is relaxing and the views from the tub and bed are amazing.

Ascent
We had a 6 day family vaca. The house and views from the house were incredible. Our son proposed at Sprague Lake. We had fun celebrating the engagement. We cooked a lot and watched and listened to the wildlife. The fireplace and master shower were fabulous. The house was huge. Got a little lost the first few days in it. The house had everything you could possibly need and upon arrival it was white glove clean!

Absolutely stunning home.
Our family of 8 just returned from a 5 day stay at the Ascent. It was hard to leave such a beautiful home. Everything is new and modern with large windows throughout. The staff at Windcliff were awesome. Would highly recommend staying at the Ascent. The home is lower on the mountain which we liked, but the views are still excellent. It was everything we had imagined.

We will never stay any place else in Estes
Our family of 8 enjoyed a week at Ascent in mid June. The house is fabulous! The kitchen is almost better equipped than my own kitchen. The master is comparable to what you would see in a 5 star resort. The other bedrooms are also quite nice. This is our third time to stay in Windcliff and there is no nicer home on the mountain. Ascent is low on the mountain making quick treks into town or the national park much more convenient. However, the view down low is not quite as spectacular as it is higher up. The best part of the home is the outdoor furnishings. No one in our group wanted to leave the house to enjoy the rest of Estes because lounging and eating outside was so inviting. Check-in and check-out was super easy and everything was exactly as it was promised. We already tried to book for next year but all the dates are blacked out. Hope they will open up soon. As long as we vacation in Estes we will be at Ascent (if it’s available).

Dream views
My family had the best time at the Ascent house. The first night the house was surrounded by elk, so neat for our kids (and us) to see! We were about 5 minutes from the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park making it perfect for daily hikes with littles. The wrap around porch and back patio were amazing to sit and enjoy some down time. We hope one day we can go again!

Ascent is the best vacation rental property we have ever stayed at and we can't wait to go back!
We had a fabulous time spending our Thanksgiving holiday with our family at this property. The house was just built and everything in it is brand new. We loved the floor plan. It has a very spacious open concept design for the common areas. Large windows are throughout showing off the view of the mountains and beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The master bedroom is upstairs and it has everything you could wish for. The master bedroom floor includes a large bathroom with whirlpool tub and separate shower, double vanity, large closet room, doors to the outside upper deck, and even a kitchenette area. The other bedrooms were also spacious with large closets and bathrooms. The beds were all very comfortable with new bedding. My kids' favorite area of the house was the lowest level where the ping pong table was. The house had a lot of board games and DVDs that my kids enjoyed borrowing during their stay. The owners even put a step stool under bathroom sink and added a few plush animals to the downstairs bedroom with twin beds to make the kids feel welcome in their room. We were fortunate to see a lot of falling snow during our visit and there were several deer that would graze near the house. We loved the location of the house. It is so close to Rocky Mountain National Park and we made several day trips there to take short hikes and go sledding. We also enjoyed going into Estes Park and we watched the Christmas Parade the Friday after Thanksgiving. Estes Park is a lovely town with great shops and restaurants.
