Sur is a newly built, state-of-the-art, designer villa with private pool, completed in 2018. The villa has plenty of outdoor space and stunning views towards the Mediterranean Sea and the picturesque white village of Salobreña with the impressive Moorish Castle (lit up at night). Sur definitely has its own personality with modern features and raw, tough and refined materials. Moreover, Sur not only has a high level of energy efficiency, as all energy consumed stems from renewable sources; but are the garden and orchard irrigated with the water provided by rain and a nearby wellspring.
You enter the property either by the walkway or the electric car gate. On the private area there is parking space for two cars.
The terrace can be reachable from both the bedroom and the hall. Walking down the stairs from the entrance level you will arrive to the main floor of the house with a spacious and bright open plan living room surrounded by glass sliding doors, so you can make the most of the outdoor space, as well as the incredible views to the sea and the spectacular surroundings. Through these sliding doors you have access to the main terrace and heated swimming pool, where you can relax in comfortable chairs and loungers and enjoy the scenic views.
The functional and spotless kitchen is equipped for all your culinary needs. Adjacent to the kitchen is the utility room with washing machine. The villa has both indoor and outdoor dining areas for experiencing “al fresco” dinners or warmer meals inside, and still enjoying the beautiful views.
Down the staircase you arrive to a third floor where there are 2 bedrooms and a family bathroom. One of the bedrooms has double bed (1.50 x 1.90 m) and the other one has twin beds (0.90 x 1.90 m). The family bathroom with shower and the open plan room with sofa bed (1.50 x 1.90 m) are located between the two bedrooms, as well as the fantastic and ample built in wardrobe. All these features add another modern touch to the general distribution of this wonderful villa.
At this level, another terrace accessible from all the inside rooms on this floor and from the upper level of the house is located. Here you can also relax and enjoy the marvelous views. Taking some steps down, you are led to a garden with lawn and “in progress” ecological orchard settled in terraces where you can find a variety of trees and vegetables. The terraces surrounding the property and gardens are connected to each other, so you can easily flow from one place to another without obstacles.
There are areas without handrails. Therefore, we believe that it is not advisable to stay in this villa with children under 10 years of age.
The villa has WIFI, Netflix in the smart TV, DVD player, Radio player and nice loudspeaker with an amplifier so you can play your music on high quality. Additionally, there wide variety of European and international channels.
The entire villa has hot and cold air-conditioning, which can be controlled individually in every room.
Sur is located in Monte de los Almendros, one of the best hillside urbanization in the Costa Tropical. Guests have complimentary use of the urbanization’s communal tennis court, large swimming-pool, children’s pool, football pitch, playground and snack bar during the summer months. The main Salobrena beaches, restaurants, bars and shops are less than a 10 minute drive away.
Malaga, Granada and Almeria airport are all in close proximity to the area. If you can manage to pry yourself away from this marvelous villa, you could also explore the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This area is just an hour drive away and there you can enjoy walking, hiking and some of the best skiing in Spain. So you can ski during the morning (from November to April) and relax on the beach or at the infinity pool or Jacuzzi in the afternoon!

Pool heating is optional and will be charged separately.
The costs for pool heating up to 28 degrees are:
October 1st to April 30th: 175 euros per week
May 1st to September 30th: 125 euros per week
The costs for heating from 28 degrees are 25 euros per degree per week
We booked our holiday in January through Simply Owners and on the website at the time of booking it clearly mentioned that there was a master suite with bath on the entrance floor. This suited our party of 4 very well as one of our party needed a bath for arthritic reasons. On arrival at the villa in September, this suite was closed off. We were shocked and confused! On questioning the agents “Villas Coleres Spain” they admitted to us that the suite on the entrance floor had been closed off at some point after our booking was made, but they had failed to tell us! They even admitted that a mistake had been made by the company and we should have been advised!!! The agents should have notified us of any changes to the contract and provided us with the option of cancelling. This did not happen!!! To this day, the agents are not accepting any liability that a mistake has been made. Totally unacceptable! Book somewhere else!

About the neighborhood
Salobreña is located in the colorful and warm South of Spain, in the region of Andalucia and more specifically in the province of Granada. Apart from the Alhambra Palace and the Sierra Nevada mountains, the province of Granada is famous for the free tapas with any drink. This is a great way to sample the delicious local food. Salobreña is part of the still relatively virgin Costa Tropical without mass tourism, making it the ideal holiday destination for the discerning tourist. If you want a relaxing vacation, good beaches, blue skies, sun, a wealth of leisure activities and a taste of the real Spain then you've come to the right place!
Getting around
Salobreña and Motril are easily accessible with a taxi, but cities further away like Malaga and Granada are best reachable by car. We would strongly recommend to rent a car to get around easily. With your reservation you get a 10% discount for a car rental. The historic city of Granada with the spectacular Alhambra Palace is only 45 minutes away. The small mountain villages of the Alpujarras are well worth exploring. Other places of interest include Almunecar with its markets and Roman ruins, La Herradura with its beautiful harbour and Nerja with its underground caves. Our guests love this area because it is still Spanish and very much unspoilt. It is how the Costa del Sol used to be before it was overdeveloped.

Airports: The closest airports to Salobrena are in Granada, Malaga and Almeria. Granada airport is 45 minutes from our villa. However, the majority of our guests fly on Malaga airport as there are hundreds of flights daily from all over Europe. Malaga airport is less than an hour away from this villa. Almeria is around 75 minutes away. We have an agreement with several car hire companies that offer our clients a 10 % discount. Please ask us for details upon booking so you can take advantage of this savings.
