We enjoyed our stay as accommodation was very nice. However it was too far out of town .Buses didn't always turn up even though you were at the Bus stop in plenty of time.As for hiring a car in Alora it's impossible as the nearest place is Malaga which was disappointing.
I would recommend a car hire but insure it's arranged before you arrive at Alora. That's if you are willing to drive from Malaga, not every one is..
Train service is excellent and a inexpensive way of travelling. Also when you arrive by train to Alora there is always a mini bus there to take you into the town,This service too is excellent.
Remember if you are over 60years of age and intend travelling by train often it's wise to purchase a gold card for 6 Euros per person. You save 40% off fares.
Next time we visit I will make sure my Spanish is adequate to communicate as English is not
widely used in Alora. It's worth brushing up on your Spanish.
