This cottage was horrible, filthy, damp, dismal. Previous reviews were misleading. No satisfactory action from the owners when we complained.

My family and I stayed here for a week at the start of July. We had an amazing time. The house itself was very comfortable and upon entering we were greeted by the smell of a turf fire burning in the stove in the sitting room. The house has all the necessary amenities, and the beds were wonderfully comfy. Our hosts were extremely friendly, helpful and always on hand if ever anything was needed. The house is nestled perfectly among the mountains and beside a beautiful golden beach. Further along the road it will take you to Muckros head where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the distant slieve league cliffs. The local towns and villages aren’t very far away and have everything you need. If you’re looking for a peaceful and tranquil break away, then this is the place for you. We really enjoyed our stay with you, and we have already begun to plan our next stay. Thanks so much Paul

Beautiful place to stay , views from the cottage to kill for . And there is nothing better than the smell of the burning turf in the fireplace . Owners always there to help .

I cannot thank the Byrne family enough for the wonderful week we spent in their beautiful cottage in the stunning location of Muckross. From the moment we landed, Anne and her family made us feel so welcome. The cottage is perfectly equipped with all the necessities. The beds are unbelievably comfy. The house was spotless from top to bottom. Anne even left us a welcome package including a bottle of wine and biscuits. I honestly have never been somewhere so beautiful, the beaches, the landscape and the people - I will be back!

This house is lovely to stay at without fail we had a great time, so close to a few beaches. The scenery was outside and easy found. Was a bit taken back to find out we had to have our own stuff to light fire with and were meant to have €2 coins for electric and heating although this did not put us of, would have just been nice to know but will definitely be back again with out doubt

Easily found the house with directions from Anne Marie and her daughter. Welcoming reception close to the beach and harbour and Muckross head. Will surely be back had a great time here. Everything you need all comforts of home and nice log fire.

Our family of 6(2 adults,4 children age 2,4,8,11) and a young labrador,stayed here for a week. We had a fantastic holiday,spending most of our time on the little beach,thanks to the beautiful weather we were so lucky to get.We even saw a family of dolphins swimming close to shore on our last night,which was amazing! The house itself is basic,but met our needs. The beds were very comfy,and bedding lovely and soft. The house was spotless. We loved the range fire,and lit it every night,which left us with hot water for baths the next morning.Having turf included was fantastic-the smell was gorgeous! The only thing that wasn't supplied was egg cups for boiled eggs(our favourite breakfast)but such a minor complaint.Everything else you could possibly need was supplied. The view of the sea,and the surrounding mountains was stunning.We really enjoyed the 5 minute walks to the beach. Although the sea is very close to the house(you can hear the waves),getting to the beach takes a little longer than i expected,but this was not a disappointment. In an ideal world,we would have loved a bit of outside space with somewhere to allow the kids and dog to play,or to sit and eat in the evenings and take in the beautiful views,but this wasn't possible at this house,which was fine for the price paid. Anne Marie and her husband were really friendly.We felt very welcome,and they weren't at all intrusive.Their dogs were lovely too. We made use of the offer of babysitting one night,which was fantastic,and allowed us grown-ups to go for a nice quiet dinner together;) Just a small word of warning for families with 3+ children,the electricity meter,which you had to put coins in,was quite expensive,averaging out at 6-7 euros a day for us(the washing machine was on twice daily,and tumble drier once daily with lots of towels used on the beach).We didn't budget for this so was a bit of a shock.This may be normal for rental houses,but we hadn't experienced this before in previous rentals. Overall,it was our best family holiday yet,and we would love to come back.

What a trip, we are already counting down the days to our next visit. Annemarie and the family are brilliant hosts, they had wine chilling in the fridge and some sweets for the children. The cottage itself is a lovely cosy home with all facilities needed, cooker, fridge, freezer etc.. We were blessed with fab weather and spent our days exploring the beach, Muckross head and slieve league, simply blissful!! I would highly recommend Sea View cottage if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful break with breath taking scenery. Thanks a million Anne, we will definitely see you soon. Rosemary & Family
