Enjoy your visit to Seward, Alaska and stay at the Seward Birdhouse, your nest away from home! Cute and cozy stucco cottage, conveniently located in town with beautiful views of the mountains and ocean. Two blocks from the beach and historic downtown.

Completely furnished with full kitchen, free laundry, cable TV, WIFI. queen bed, two twin beds. Photographs and artwork by host decorate the Birdhouse. Parking on-site. No smoking, no pets.

Driving Directions: Seward Highway 9 changes to Third Avenue in town. Turn left on Madison Street, drive two blocks and turn right on Fifth Avenue. The Seward Birdhouse is the second house on the right at 433 Fifth Avenue.

Note: the Fourth of July holiday requires a minimum 3-day booking that includes the nights of July 3, 4, and 5th.

This was our third time staying here. And we plan on coming back next year. It's clean and comfortable. It's within walking distance of everything we're interested in. it's Perfect for us. And Carol, the owner, is very accommodating and always available.

Stayed at Carol's place (Seward Birdhouse) last week. This was by far the best experience I've had with personal accommodations as an alternative to hotel room. The place was super clean and the view of the Bay was as described. Seemed like a nice neighborhood....More

Cute small house very convenient to central downtown Seward -- less than 5 min walk to restaurants, coastal walking trail, sealife center, and walkable in 15+ to harbor and train station. Everything was neat and clean. Carol left coffee, tea, hot chocolate and instant oatmeal...More

About the neighborhood
The Seward Birdhouse is conveniently located in the heart of Seward with parking on-site. Enjoy spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains and Resurrection Bay from the front and famous Mt Marathon to the back.

2 blocks south is the historic downtown, restaurants, and shops. The beach is also 2 blocks away where the gentle paved path along the oceanfront leads one way to the community playground and Alaska Sealife Center, and the other direction to the Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center, harbor shops and restaurants, and tour boats. Forest and mountain trails beckon a short walk to the west.

Be sure to visit Kenai Fjords National Park by boat, drive out to Exit Glacier for a ranger-guided or self-guided walk on the trails, visit our new community Library/Museum and learn...

Getting around
A rental car is the most convenient way to get around to all the sights.

Exit Glacier is also serviced by Liquid Adventures with hourly trips.

The Alaska Sealife Center is a nice walk along the waterfront path, part of the National Historic Iditarod Trail, or straight south on Fifth Avenue 3 blocks and over one.

Downtown shopping and restaurants are only two blocks away.

Alaska Railroad: The train arrives at 11 am, so you will have several hours before you can check in. There is a luggage storage service in town, and taxi service. A free shuttle stops at the Depot every 30 minutes and makes a loop through town.

Cruise ship: The cruise ship dock is located at the end of Port Avenue. The free shuttle stops here every 30 minutes, there is also taxi service.
