Comfortable Duplex In Upper Ninth Ward. Three separate bedrooms (one queen and two full), and a sleeper sofa. There is a full kitchen, with eating area, living room and w/d. Minutes away from 'Musician's Village'. Off street parking. 10 minutes to from Quarters.
If you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of the French Quarters, this is the place for you. When you want to get ready to party in the Quarters, it is only a ten minute drive.
You are adjacent to the Bywater neighborhood. Full of art, and music and restaurants. 5 minute drive from duplex. Don't leave without visiting 'The Joint' restaurant for some of the best BBQ. Bywater is the place to visit not only for food, but also music venues, parks, coffee shops, art and don't forget a sno ball from Piety Street Sno Balls.
Ms. Verna is an amazing human being. Perfect hospitality, central location, safe, clean and it felt like home. Ms. Verna brought my sister's and I lunch when we arrived and it was so good we went to Melba's the next day. She has all your normal necessities you have at home. She had snacks stocked for our stay and recommended the best restaurant we felt, in town (Morning Call); please visit, it is amazing and beautiful. (Photo Below)
Ms. Verna was like our aunt we hadn't seen in years. While visiting she gave us all the information we needed at check in and made sure we made it to our home after we checked out. We look forward to our next visit to New Orleans and glad we found Ms. Verna's comfy home. We are recommending her to everyone we know headed that way. Thank you so much Ms. Verna🤗

30th bday trip!!
My guests and myself had such a great time staying in Vernas house. She met us with yummy food, and had snacks laid out around for us to enjoy on our stay there. The house was nice and clean, and there was the perfect amount of room for all of us to stay and be comfortable. I would gladly come back and rent this again. The neighborhood was relatively quiet, even being buy a slightly busy street. Can’t wait to visit again!!

Vernas house was very nice and cozy. She had food there ready for us after a long day of traveling. It was nice to get there and just be able to settle in with a hot meal. The house is only about 10 minutes from down town and it's a pretty easy jaunt. The only down side is the traffic on Galvez St is pretty busy and it seems to be that way 24 hours a day.

Spring Break Stay
Had a blast staying at this house with my friends! It was close enough to bourbon street and the music festival Buku. We were able to drive around and Uber to different places! There was food and snacks waiting for us upon our arrival! I had a great time

Awesome
Ms. Verna’s home was awesome, the house was exactly as described. She greeted us on the first day with a delicious meal from Melba’s that’s actually located a few minutes away from the house and is opened 24/7. The beds are comfty and she provided heaters and more blankets for those cold winter nights. We did have a few times where the heaters blew out a fuse in the back half of the house, but it wasn’t a big deal or inconvience. All and all nice place to stay and would most likely stay there again!

Perfect place to stay in New Orleans!
Verna shows hospitality like no one else. Cozy, clean duplex, with comfortable beds. The location is close to everything. Friendly neighborhood. It exceeded our expectations!

Very cozy nice place in NOLA
Michael and Verna are superb as hosts. First time in 40as a tourist that a tenant welcome us with traditional food and a place so comfortable plus affordable!
Its just minutes from downtown NOLA, has free parking, full equipped kitchen, snacks all around the house included and very comfortable beds!
Next time in NOLA this is the place where my family will stay for sure!

Amazing Stay
Our experience staying in New Orleans at Ms Vernas home was just that home away from home she kept in contact with us from booking to end of stay. Her place is a really nice 3 bd rm. Her hospitality was warm and friendly, home was equipped and secure, with everything you would need to enjoy your stay we did! hated to leave, I encourage everyone who plans to visit New Orleans on vacation or business to add this cozy spot into the plans it's amazing.

Great Host
Ms. Verna was friendly, warm, and responsive to our needs and questions. She had hot food waiting for us (much to the delight of my teenagers who loved the fried chicken, mac and cheese, and gumbo!) upon arrival and gave us helpful advice about our visit to NOLA. Her house was stocked with breakfast and snack items as well as beverages, all of which was much appreciated. The house itself was as described and was tidy and functional . The neighborhood seemed sketchy at first, but part of that is that there are still signs of Katrina in the Nineth Ward. However it is close to the touristy areas by car and thus served as a good home base. I think that this is a good value for a family with a car.

The duplex is located in the Upper Ninth Ward, adjacent to the Bywater Neighborhood. This location is close to many local eateries, music and art venues.
The French Quarters are 10 minutes away. There are several historic sites in the neighborhood. I also provide free off street parking at the location .
Getting around
Most guests use Uber getting around to the different venues. Car is ok, however , parking in the French Quarters and most venues is very high.
