Keep apt tidy as possible. Being hot and humid most months make sure to keep kitchen and food debris clear at all times. Roaches/ palmetto bugs are a part of Louisiana but the cleaner you keep the place the less chance of running into a nightly occurrence of pests. Trash days are Tuesday and Friday morning. Set the bins out the night prior (Monday and Thursday). Recycling is once a week of Friday set it out the night prior. NO GLASS in recycling, thats trash.
I travel to NOLA once a year for work and was really getting tired of the city and staying in the French Quarter surrounded by tourists and noise. And then I stayed in Nicole's apartment, fell back in love with New Orleans and made new...More

About the neighborhood
The neighborhood has a great sense of history. Within in walking distance from historic Bayou Rd which was the center of trade dating back to Native Americans. It’s a lovely tree lined street and a very family oriented area. There are many short term rentals in the community and quite safe. Neighbors look out for one another and are very helpful and friendly.
Getting around
I love to use the Blue Bike bicycles which have pick up and drop off points all around the city. Nearest being on Bayou Rd near N Broad St across from the neighborhood bar Pirogues. It’s a great way to get around and see the beauty of the city with its historic architectural homes and gardens and tree lined streets. Lyft and Uber are the best anywhere in the city. Safe and convenient and timely in any area.
