Ervin and Darlene’s place was a great spot for coming to Mardi Gras with a group of friends. For New Orleans (used to skinnier shotgun style houses) the home is spacious with three full bathrooms and very comfortable couches. The beds were comfortable also but it would have been nice to have a flat sheet. The home was clean and it was great to have a washer and a dryer when staying for a week. The kitchen was nice with a microwave and air fryer but if you plan to cook there aren’t many utensils/silverware or pots/pans. It was convenient that the home had a key pad. Each bedroom had a TV but several didn’t connect to the internet. Overall great vacation and don’t pass up Ervin’s cooking - best oysters and baked potato EVER!!! He needs to bottle and sell his secret sauce!

We cannot say enough good things about our stay in the Shaw Suite in New Orleans. Ervin was the most splendid host, between the food he cooked for us, the tour of the town, and just the conversations we had. He was more then willing to answer any questions we had and tell us about some of the history of the area. The house was exactly as described, plenty of room for 3 couples. It was clean and inviting. He had some beer stocked in the fridge waiting for us when we arrived. We used the hot tub a couple nights and the jetted tub in our private bath was also very relaxing. It was so easy to use Lyft to get where we needed. We never felt unsafe at all, even sitting on the deck late at night. All 6 of us would highly recommend staying in Ervin's home! You will not regret it!

The owners, Ervin & Darlene Shaw, live next door and are amazing. They were so helpful - even took us grocery shopping on our first night. As promised, Ervin had char-broiled oysters for us when we arrived - we were all apprehensive as not overly fond of oysters,but they were delicious! Darlene had gumbo ready for us for supper - top notch - we tried others but none compared to hers! The home is close to the airport and easy to get to all areas in and out of the city. There was ample parking for two rental cars. There is a large deck and a hot tub sits in the back yard, which accommodated our group of six adults. The home was very clean and contained everything we needed. Ervin took us on a tour of the areas of the city hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina - amazing to have a local show us and explain to us how it happened and the effects it has had on the people even 14 years later. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Shaw's rental & would recommend to anyone wanting an alternate to hotel living on your vacation.

Stayed here for Thanksgiving 2018 and was extremely satisfied with the accommodations! Rooms were spacious, nice, and clean! The house was fully stocked. The location made it easy to get back and forth to the Superdome and Riverwalk! The char-grilled oysters were delicious! I will definitely book here again!

Ervin and his wife are the BEST host we've ever had!! I had my wedding party stay here when i was getting married and Ervin and his wife Darlene were absolutely amazing hosts. They showed them a true Nawlins experience by grilling out his famous oysters, Darlene made the BEST gumbo you'll find in New Orleans and they were truly engaged with us to make sure everyone was happy and having a memorable experience. My family from out of town stopped by and they said they immediately felt right at home. That is what you get when you stay here, you don't just get a place to sleep, you get a rare, authentic experience with someone who welcomes you not just into their home but into their family. I do not plan on staying anywhere else on all future stays. It's a 5-10 min uber (depending on traffic) to the French Quarter and all major attractions and close enough to the highway that you can get anywhere. The hot tub in the back yard is a relaxing way to end any night and the food he and his wife made is better than any restaurant you'll find. ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!!

We really enjoyed our trip to New Orleans and our stay at the Shaw's home. The location was great . Very close to the streetcar. Near the convention center and the superdome. The best food that I ate in New Orleans was prepared by the Shaw's... it was grilled oysters and seafood gumbo. The house was very clean with large bedrooms rooms and there was plenty of hot water to go around for all of the showers. I will stay at this home again on my next trip to New Orleans.

Ervin and his wife were the best host’s any guest could have; they were very friendly and willing to give us the shirts off their backs if we needed them. Ervin grilled us up several plates of his famous oysters and even gave us a heartfelt tour around the city to share its rich history; including the 9th Ward devastated by hurricane Katrina. I recommend this beautiful home for all vacationers seeking a clean, spacious, and warm welcoming host on their next getaway. This place was simply amazing! This house was perfect for our group of (6). The home was in an excellent location and within 20 minutes of all of the activities we were in town for. The home was very clean with many accommodations. The Shaw's were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay here again next time we're in town.

Ervin and Darlene Shaw were very courteous and kind. We couldn't have wished for better hosts. I'll definitely return!!!

Nicest host I've ever had, they were AMAZING! The house was functional and very clean. Plus, 3 bathrooms really helped out a lot.
