Mountain Springs Chalet is named after the springs that come out of the mountain and runs down underneath the driveway and down the hill to a mountain stream that runs at the foot of the driveway and eventually into Buckberry Creek that runs across from Mountain Springs. With heavier rains, additional small spring-fed streams appear alongside the chalet. Buckberry Creek is a large creek that runs across from the chalet down the mountain to the Little River in downtown Gatlinburg. It is fed by our mountain springs (coming out of the mountain across from the front door that runs underneath the driveway and down the hillside) as well as many other spring-fed streams including stream at the foot of the driveway. There are multiple places to sit on the banks and rocks and enjoy the water flows and aquatic life. Buckberries, as well as blackberries, grow along the creek and the mountain-side. Wander across to the Creek and sit on the logs and rocks or sit on the patio furniture on a spacious deck or by the springs around the fit pit. Inside on a cool evening, enjoy the wood-burning fireplace. Mountain Springs has a large living room, an indoor patio set just inside from the deck (for when it's wet or cold outside), a dining area, a full kitchen and appliances, master bath downstairs, a queen bed upstairs (with half-bath) and a queen sofa bed in the living room. It has an easy access to Buckberry Creek. Mountain Chalet is a beautiful, spacious A-frame chalet that comfortably sleeps six (6) guests. It is in a great location, conveniently located for easy access to the Ober Gatlinburg ski resort (~ 1/2 mile), downtown Gatlinburg (< 2 miles) the Bypass to the Great Smokey National Park (~1 mile). At Ober Galinburg, there is Snow Skiing, Snow Tubing (winter), Alpine Slide, Year Round Ice Skating, Golf, Zoo with bears, Nature Walk, Chair lift, Cable tram to the center of town, and much, much more. There is a convenience store within walking distance. You also have full access to the Chalet Village Clubhouse with swimming pool, playground, tennis courts, workout room, and more! Yet, while you re staying at Mountain Springs Chalet, you are surrounded by the magnificent mountains -- sit on the large, wrap-around deck and enjoy the mountain breeze, the sweet smell of the flowers and forest, and listen to the rushing mountain creek. The property also has an additional mountain spring-fed creek that flows by the driveway....breathe in the sweet, mountain air....let all your senses come alive as your mind, body and spirit relax under the canopy of mountain foliage.... Outside you will also find a place for campfires. Inside, enjoy the relaxing and cozy feel of the all-wood walls, stone fireplace, and vaulted ceilings. There is a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, and all the comforts of home. Whatever your desires, you will find it here at Buckberry Creek Chalet! Wonderful Stay
Had a great time! The boys loved seeing the bears and sitting on the front porch! The sound of the creek running across the road was very peaceful and the lightening bugs were abundant!

About the neighborhood
Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are gateway towns to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. They offer a wide variety of restaurants, mountain arts & crafts, music, multiple amusements and activities, sports, theme parks, dinner shows, outlets and shopping venues. The National Park is over a half-million acres – it is the country’s most-visited national park. You can start at Mountain Springs and make your way to one of the park’s visitor centers, then a hike to one of many waterfalls or a hike on the Appalachian Trail itself or a wildflower walk or a walk down one of many Quiet Walkways may leave you with a smile and a lasting impression. The experiences changes with every season.
Getting around
In addition to driving, Gatlinburg now has 20 trolleys servicing approximately 50 miles in and around Gatlinburg and surrounding areas. You can view the locations and approximate arrival times at numerous trolley shelters through a global positioning system. To view the locations of the trolleys, please click on the following link: Trolley Locator at Gatlinburg mass transit org. Pigeon Forge also has The Pigeon Forge also has the Fun Time Trolleys that connect with Gatlinburg - more than 40 vehicles and transport millions of people each year. How to get there
From within Gatlinburg, the stop lights are numbered on the Parkway. At Stop Light #10 in Gatlinburg, turn up Ski Mountain Rd. towards Ober Gatlinburg/ski slopes. Appoximately 2 miles on the left is the A-frame Chalet. We share a driveway with a large, round house. The name of the chalet and the numbers are on the mailbox across the street. If you want to avoid Gatlinburg traffic, you can take the Gatlinburg Bypass from the Parkway. Turn right onto the By-Pass just before entering Gatlinburg from Pigeon Forge. Then, turn left on Campbell Lead Rd. (it is the only turnoff on the parkway before a turnoff to enter Gatlinburg from the south) Almost immediately, you will come to a T-intersection and stop sign. Turn left and follow the road until you come to another stop sign. Turn left once more to a third stop sign at Ski Mountain Rd. When you get to Ski Mountain Rd. turn right up the mountain, and the chalet will be just up on the left-hand side of the road across from the mailbox on the right.
