This house was one of the first homes saved from demolition by the Bee Hive Society and is one of the oldest in the city.
The owners have decorated the house beautifully and made a special effort to research the most comfortable beds and bedding for their guests.
The garden level bedroom has an entry from the courtyard with 1-2 steps down. It has a king bed and another bedroom with two twins beds, a complete laundry room and a full bathroom.
The Parlour- or main level is the living room with a large screen TV, comfortable couch and chairs. The well-stocked kitchen with upgraded appliances is easy to use. The Dining room is just off the kitchen. A door leads from the kitchen to the deck and then down steps to the courtyard. There is a lockbox to get the keys for the property, so arrival anytime after 3pm on the day of check-in is okay. There is a book about The LIve Oaks House made by the owners with a wealth of information of what to do and see during your stay.

About the neighborhood
This is downtown Savannah, GA. You will be staying 5 minutes walk away from the famous River Street, Broughton Street and City Market area as well as the beautiful squares that the City is built around. Each one contains some historic statues or information. Forsyth Park is a beautiful park in the middle of downtown Savannah. There's a great Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings and the famous Fountain. The restaurants in the downtown area or a $5 uber ride away are too numerous to mention. The House book lists many of them.
Getting around
You will be able to walk most everywhere in the downtown area.
If you want to go to Tybee Island, a car is needed. It's a 20 minute drive from the property.
The trolley tours are great to get an overview of the city of Savannah.
There are bikes you can rent, pedicabs, the Horse & Buggy Tours are great- and there are walking tours.
So many options, so much to do!

How to get there
The Savannah- Hilton Head airport is in Pooler, GA. It's about a 20 minute drive to downtown Savannah and the property. There is uber available. You don't really need a car during your stay. If you do have a car, the parking is on the street & metered during the week 8am-5pm. Right now it is free after 5pm and on the weekends for the parking spaces with meters only. (it is supposed to change) If you are staying during the week, you can buy a visitor's pass that allows you to park at any meter downtown. It is $12 for 3 days. There is also a free shuttle bus called DOT that goes around the downtown area.
