Schöner Aufenthalt in guter Lage in Harlem
Wir (3 Erwachsene) waren zum zweiten Mal bei Kakuna. Sie hat uns wieder herzlich empfangen und mit aktuellen Infos zu NYC versorgt. Die Wohnung liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße im 2. OG. Zur Metro (135. Str.) sind es etwa 200 m. Die beiden Schlafzimmer sind nach hinten gelegen. Der große Wohnraum mit Küche geht zur Straße. Die Küche ist mit Allem sehr gut ausgerüstet, so dass das Kochen Spaß macht, was wir auch viel genutzt haben. Wir werden sicher und gerne wiederkommen.

Top verblijf buiten de drukte van Manhattan
In een rustig gedeelte van Harlem staat een mooi en authentiek huis waar het heerlijk vetroeven is. Aan einde van de straat op een paar honderd meter lopen is een metro station dat je in korte tijd in hartje van lower Manhattan brengt. Wie zin heeft in een stevige wandeling (30 minuten) kan ook over de Frederick Douglass Boulevard lopen en naar central park wandelen. In het appartement was alles aanwezig wat je in een normaal huishouden aantreft. Er was zelfs in ons geval al voor een ontbijt gezorgd door de vrouw des huizes. Een fijne service was dat we voor vertrek via mail op de hoogte waren gebracht over ons verblijf, tips en nuttige informatie.

Tel que nous souhaitions qu'il soit !
Kakuna est une hôtesse parfaite, d'une grande gentillesse. Attentionnée ... Tout ce qu'il faut pour un petit déjeuner à l'arrivée Discrète ... Mais on la savait là :-) Très réactive ... Pour des conseils, la réservation du taxi pour le départ, etc.. Quant à l'appartement, il est spacieux et très confortable pour 4 personnes. Belle pièce à vivre, cuisine fonctionnelle et moderne. Les deux chambres ont une literie très confortable. Tout cela fait que nous nous sentions à NYC comme chez nous ! Merci Kakuna, cela a contribué à faire de cette première new yorkaise, une belle réussite. Ha oui, j'oubliais, le temps a été magnifique ...En plus !

Wir waren, diesmal mit Freunden, wieder hier, und es hat wieder alles wunderbar geklappt! Die Lage direkt an der Subway ist ideal, man ist selbst aus der Südspitze Manhattans mit dem Expresstrain sehr schnell dort! Es gibt einen neuen großen Supermarkt gleich in der Nähe, perfekt um fürs Frühstück einzukaufen. Aber auch 3 nette kleine Kaffeehäuser (keine Ketten!) sind fußläufig erreichbar! Kakuna war sehr hilfsbereit mit vielen Tipps! Wir kommen wieder!

I will go to NYC ! I need some help !
I will go to NYC in April, I would like some help.I visted the Statue of Liberty ,the empire state building and central parke in 2016. I'd like see a basketball match ,so could you tell me where is the stadium of knicks.My fiend is fond of meat and he'd love go to the best restaurant of NYC. Could you suggest any restaurant for him ? If you know of any high tech shops say it to me. And some other advice ,it will be a pleasure!

Schöne Wohnung in Harlem
Die Wohnung liegt im 2. OG in einer ruhigen Einbahnstraße. Der Metroeingang der 135. Straße ist nur 200 m entfernt. Ein Schlafzimmer geht zum Hof, das zweite ist innenliegend mit einem Lichtschacht. Die Wohnküche geht nach vorne zur Straße raus; die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, auch mit Geschirr und Besteck ( Messer könnten noch mehr da sein); Grundnahrungsmittel O-Saft, Brot, Butter, Eier, Kaffe, div. Tees und Honig waren auch vorhanden Im großen Wohnbereich gibt es zwei Ledersofas und einen Esstisch mit 4 Stühlen; Das Bad geht auch nach hinten raus. Kakuna hatte uns persönlich empfangen und uns viele Tips für Ausflüge und Besichtigungsmöglichkeiten gegeben und uns eine gute Heimreisr gewünscht. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt darauf spätestens in 2020 wieder dort zu sein.

Good position, property needs TLC.
Easily accessible via subway to central attractions. Property a little disappointing and in need of updating, decoration/fixtures and fittings. Owner easily contactable and available to help if needed.

This is a fabulous place to stay!
My friend and I stayed in this beautiful, spacious apartment in September. We were there for about three weeks. The apartment is very comfortable and has all the appliances that you need. It was awesome to stay in Harlem and took the opportunity to explore some fabulous places there. The apartment is only eighteen minutes travel time on the subway to Times Square. Our landlords were amazing. Kakuna spent a lot of time giving us valuable information about how to make the most of our time in awesome New York. She recommended some wonderful places, not mentioned in the guide books. It was invaluable to have all of this background knowledge. Thank you Kakuna and Fred! We will definitely be returning to New York and stay here again!

Ruim appartement in rustige omgeving
Zeer ruim van opzet. Goed bereikbaar. Rustige omgeving en toch dichtbij openbare voorzieningen als supermarkt en metro/bus. Nadeel is de steile trap waar je je koffers langs omhoog moet sjouwen, maar meer dan de moeite waard!! Vriendelijke ontvangst en hulp bij vragen.

We truly enjoyed hosting Danielle and her group. Communication before and during their stay was smooth and pleasant. The group was also considerate in their use of the apartment and it’s amenities. After a long journey, those last two flights of stairs to the top floor of our brownstone/townhouse can be a bit daunting. But, the reward is your home away from home, a peaceful place to return to after the hustle and bustle of NYC!

Perfect stay
We stayed here for the second part of your holiday, it was just amazing. The apartment is beautiful. Excellently located near public transport. The host was brilliant and to be honest I could not fault a single thing about the stay. I am definatly planning to come back and stay again!

The M3 bus line, a block away on St. Nicholas Avenue, takes you south via Fifth Avenue and directly to Museum Mile (El Museo del Barrio, Museum of the City of New York, Guggenheim, Whitney and the Metropolitan museums).

How to get there
JFK AIRPORT: The Air Train and A train subway line is the most economical way to travel into the City. Taxis are also available at the terminal for an average 40-minute ride, absent unforeseen traffic delays. LAGUARDIA AIRPORT: M60 bus to the subway or bus transfer at St. Nicholas Avenue, a one-hour trip to the apartment. Taxis are available for a 20-minute ride without traffic. NEWARK AIRPORT: New Jersey Transit to Penn Station, Take the Uptown-bound A train to 125th Street and transfer to the B or C train going Uptown. Get of at the next stop at 135th Street, walk half a block to the apartment. SUBWAY: The B or C subway lines are half a block away on our corner (about 50 meters). Transfer to the express A or D lines one stop away, and you arrive in midtown Manhattan in 15 minutes. The #2 or #3 subway line is a ten minute walk from the apartment. DRIVING: There is free parking available on our street and throughout the neighborhood. The cars must be moved three times per week for alternate side street cleaning. We can advise you on the best parking options shortly before your scheduled arrival. PARKING LOT: There is an underground parking lot in the Strivers Gardens condominium building at 300 West 135th Street between St. Nicholas Avenue and Frederick Douglass Boulevard. It is located 2 1/2 blocks away from the apartment and costs $25 per 24-hours/day.
