This is not a place by itself!!!! I rented this for my wife and kids. Do not rent if you want anything with privacy. You share the bathroom with owner and other tenants. Location is good.

I stayed with Reno when I was just moving here for a new job and I was searching for an apartment. Her apartment is massive and so unique, lovely, clean, and in the heart of TriBeCa. The location couldn’t have been more perfect. But really...More

About the neighborhood
In the '60's and 70's artists petitioned the govt to allow us to live where we worked since there were many vacant buildings after more mechanization changed the nature of the businesses that were here. After artists repurposed this hood, Tribeca, & the one just N of us, Soho, became famous. Seems to me that it started with John F. Kennedy Jr., bless his heart, moving in 3 buildings east in the mid-'90's. The paparazzi came. Then the magazines. And the photo shoots. And the movie shoots. And then the 1%.
It was irresistible - you could essentially build your own living space, unlike a regular apartment. People from all over the world, notably those who worked in the financial industry moved in.
And we cleaned our bldg!

There are many good ways to get to my place from JFK.
The easiest by far is by taxi cab. There is a flat fare of $52. (current June, 2018) You tell the cab driver you want the flat fare, and he does not put on the meter to time and count distance, which would cost more.
