Your 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom with Stay Alfred on 10th features: An open floor plan. Bathrooms and bedrooms need walls. Other rooms? Not so much. A living room, complete with a couch, coffee table and chairs. This is so much better than sitting on the edge of hotel-room beds. A dining area with seating for at least four. Which side to spoons go on, again?  Hardwood floors in the living area. They're natural beauties.  Tiled bathroom floors. You weren't expecting carpet here, were you? Master bedroom with king size bed. Sleeping large is an essential part of living large. En-suite master bathroom with shower/tub combo. Because not all things are meant to be shared. Guest bedroom with queen size bed. The bed may be smaller, but it's still royalty. Stainless steel range, microwave and refrigerator. How did people ever manage to cook in the days before stainless?  Stone countertops look oh, so stylish as they hold your items at waist-level. Coffee maker, blender, hair dryer and iron/board -- each a highly-trained specialist, ready to do your bidding.  Free WiFi. Obviously. We may as well mention that we provide free air to breathe, too, right?  Air conditioning. Why don't they call heat “air shampooing”?  Sliding glass bedroom doors let the light in. But don't worry -- they're equipped with shades for privacy.  THE BUILDING: It looks like you're thinking about staying in the East Village. It's a pretty stylish neighborhood, right? So why not completely immerse yourself in your San Diego experience with some exceptionally nice digs? Your Stay Alfred on 10th Avenue features eight stories East Village elegance and a truly impressive array of amenities, too. You could easily spend your entire trip on the grounds of your temporary San Diego home.  Building Amenities: A rooftop sun deck with TV. What on Earth could people possibly want with a sunny spot that offers stunning San Diego views? Maybe you'll think of something.  An interior courtyard with:  Comfortable lounge chairs where you can relax in San Diego's seemingly endless summer warmth.  A fire pit. We're fans of deep conversations, and we promote environments that foster them. Gas grills. Entertaining on the courtyard? Show off your BBQ chops. Bar seating. Because eating while standing can be awkward. Ping pong. So much fun, and a better workout than you'd think. A state-of-the art gym. Get your workout on, you animal. Free WiFi-enabled areas, so you can conserve your valuable cellular data. Controlled access building/on-site security. Finally, a break from the Paparazzi. An elevator. No need to arrive at  your Stay Alfred all sweaty from the stairs. Gated underground parking. Why worry about your car being accosted by scoundrels. (Even San Diego is rumoured to have at least one.) Package receiving. Naughty rascals won't be making off with your goods. Clubhouse with pool table. Entertain whilst keeping your space your own. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: While the nearby Gaslamp Quarter is famous for its shopping and high-energy, late-night hangouts, a stroll through East Village is more likely to turn up boutiques, vintage goods shops, intimate restaurants, art galleries and breweries -- all within walking distance (its Walk Score is an out-of-this-world 96). It's a more relaxed pace in this neighborhood, and we like it a lot. Let's take a closer look at your environs:   Distance to Popular Destinations: 10-minute walk (0.5 mi) to Petco Park 8-minute cab ride to the San Diego Zoo 9-minute cab ride to the San Diego Air & Space Museum 12-minute cab ride to Coronado Beach The  Necessities: Your grocery store/coffee shop: Albertson's (with in-store Starbuck's) - 2-minute walk  Your pharmacy: CVS - 2-minute walk Your urgent care: Gaslamp Medical Center - 6 minute cab ride Five Local Favorites: Walkable spots that we recommend to friends. Cafe Chloe 721 9th Ave 2-minute walk/450 feet With an atmosphere that convincingly evokes a Parisian cafe, Cafe Chloe is an incredibly popular date-night destination. Especially if your date has a heart that melts at the thought of dishes like duck confit, steak frites, and mussels in saffron broth. The wine list is swoon worthy, too. An uMore

Overall the apartment was nice but not exceptional. Our apartment faced the courtyard so it was very dark at all hours of the day. The linens on the beds and the bath towels were poor quality. Worse than you would see in a hotel. I...More
