Whether you’re in need of a romantic getaway, a summer water sports vacation, a great fishing trip, or a snowmobiling home base, Birchwood Cabin is perfect for your Northwoods enjoyment. Located in the heart of historic Rhinelander & Eagle River area in northern Wisconsin, Birchwood Cabin is one of the Burr Valley Cottages, established in 1924 by Valerie Burrell.
Birchwood Cabin offers many unique features. The rental cabin includes a cozy 900 square foot first floor and 500 square foot loft space. The three bedrooms sleep up to 10 people (3 full beds, 2 twin beds; including 2 modern Murphy beds and rustic log futon for multifunctional use). The east bedroom and living room boast a view of Sugar Camp Lake providing a true lakefront cabin experience.

Our cozy x-country ski weekend retreat!
Our group of 6-9 friends has been returning to the Birchwood Cabin for years because it makes the perfect headquarters for our annual North Woods get-away. It's everything you want in a cabin - cozy, comfy, rustic (but not TOO rustic), fun, and in a great location. We've never been there in the summer, but in the winter, it's a snowy wonderland with great skiing right out the door on the lake. The sauna and wood stove are delightful and the kitchen is sufficient for cooking up our big feasts. The place is by no means large or grand...that's not the point...but for a group of 8 or less, it's perfect. The owner is delightful and responsive and easy to work with, and the price is totally reasonable.

Cozy lakeside cabin with great character
Our families enjoyed our week at this lakeside cabin. The scenery, boats and lake were king! Clear sparkling water, sand for building towers and swimming and fish that proved hard to catch were highlights of the week. Located with plenty of day trips to tap into...Rhinelander, Eagle River and an hour jaunt to Bond Falls. But really lake life for the kids was the best part.

Glorious Getaway
What a beautiful escape from the city!
From the moment we arrived, the word that came to mind was "aaahhh." Must have said it a thousand times.
This lovely cabin was so easy to reach, yet seemed as if it was completely removed from any of the hectic pressures of civilization. The interior is absolutely magazine-worthy, with all the authentic trappings of a 1950's North Woods Lodge and the creature comforts of a twenty-first century hotel. (Oh, that shower! Decadent!) With fluffy towels and flannel sheets, we cuddled the nights away to the dulcet tones of loons outside.
Totally peaceful and stress-free, we were still able to get to some amazing restaurants and glorious day trips with just a short car ride. Thank you for this fantastic getaway!

We are halfway between Rhinelander and Eagle River off of Highway 17. There is parking right next to the cabin and you can even back right up to the back door for unloading.
