Be very cautious renting this unit.
We rented 2 indivudual units from Snowshoe Real Estate. I spoke with Kip and was informed that both units were "ski in ski out". The other unit we rented was exactly that, however we were mislead that this unit was also "ski in ski out" and it is not. The unit is decorated very nice and well appointed, however it is across the parking lot from the slopes. We had young chidlren and this made it very difficult for them to lug their equipment across the street.

At Snowshoe "ski in/ski out" means the condo/townhouse complex adjoins the ski trails. It does not mean any particular unit in the complex is "ski to the door". In all Snowshoe, with 1600 rental properties, fewer than 10 are "ski to the door". All others require a few steps across a driveway,parking apron, or around the building and into the ski storage entry side of the property.
Powder Monkey is one of the best locations at Snowshoe. A football field sized complex with about 30 townhouses, surrounded by 5 ski trails, none more than a few steps away. Gated parking lot, park at your door, next to ski school. You can't beat the location. Our company rents 8 properties in the group due to its popularity. We regret any misunderstanding about what "ski in/ski out" means.

Not ski in/ski out
The pictures of this home and the description "ski in/ski out" are very misleading. This home is not on the slopes. It requires a walk across a gravel parking lot to get to the slopes. The back deck of the home faces the main road. There is no view of the slopes from this home. It is behind the other condos that are actually ski in/ ski out. We were tricked by the pictures on the website. When we called to express our disappointment we were not satisfied with the response.

Excellent Stay in Snowshoe
Just got back from a wonderful long weekend in Snowshoe. Powder Monkey #3 was a perfect base for our 5 adult family. Enjoyed being near the Village but not in the midst of it which was perfect for us. Since I read prior reviews (older) before I visited this rental, I wanted to specifically give my impressions. Powder Monkey #3 is not directly on the ski slope. You walk out your front down and across a small parking area - about 25 steps, to a small set of wooden stairs (maybe 5) that take you to a path that you can ski or walk to the slopes. You are very close to the Powder Monkey lift which is great when you are done skiing. If you can't get your gear and yourself to this very close slope, you shouldn't go skiing (IMHO)!
Otherwise, well appointed. The back of the condo does face the Village road but there are blinds and with the slopes only open 9-4:30, it was very quiet at night. No issues. We actually loved looking out and seeing the sun come up over the ridge in the morning enjoying our coffee.
We enjoyed our stay - place looks just like the pictures. Great wifi, great hot water/pressure, well appointed kitchen. Thanks again Powder Monkey #3!
