'Grand Ciel' is a magnificent 5 Star villa (French Tourism Classification) in the heart of La Flotte en Ré hidden away in the quiet streets behind the Harbour. The extensive property is set in private walled gardens including a 11m x 6m heated swimming pool, sun terraces and decks, electric gate with private parking for 2 cars. The principal rooms and master bedroom are air conditioned.
The villa is a few minutes walk from the harbour with its cafes, excellent restaurants and medieval food market which is open every day of the year ! This stunning property is in a prime location and equipped in line with its 5 Star France Tourism rating.

The photos don't do it justice!
This is a beautiful house which deserves its awards. It looked virtually new...very clean and pristine. It suited us as a family of 6 though there was plenty of room for more. The highlights were the large pool, table tennis table, comfortable beds, a very well equipped kitchen and plenty of staples to start your holiday such as milk and orange juice - and kitchen goods ready to use, like Fairy liquid, sponges, tea towels, dishwasher tablets etc This was very useful and not what you usually find in a rental house.
It's an amazing location, within easy walking distance to town and restaurants and was quiet at night. The photo shows bicycles which were not on site - we had to go and rent them - but it was fine. There's lots of cycling and lots to see this beautiful island.
Agnes, the host, was easy to talk to ( her English was better than our French!) and was communicative via text messages and emails. We had a fantastic time here and would definitely come again.

"The accommodation is terrific and there is everything you need to hand. There is plenty of room to relax, it is very tastefully decorated and the pool is to die for.
The villa is really close to the town centre, but far enough away for a bit of peace and quiet."

Beautiful house in perfect La Flotte
A real find! This house has been beautifully decorated and has everything one could want - the pool area is terrific and lunch on the deck a dream.
La Flotte is great - carefully preserved and white-washed - and only a few minutes from the house are the bustling harbour and the beautiful beaches. The food market is a must and bikes the only way to travel!
We'll be back.

Fantastic Villa on Ile de Re
This is a fantastic villa to stay in for a holiday on the Ile de Re
It is in excellent condition has has all the facilities needed to enjoy with family and friends
The swimming pool has a lovely temperature to swim and relax and is of a good size
We are only 5-10 minutes walk away from the harbour where there are many eating places.
Agnes is a great hostess and ensured we settled in well on day of arrival
All the family enjoyed the stay and we would recommend whole heartily

Beautiful and very well equipped villa with splendid pool in tranquil setting
Large rooms throughout the villa give plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen and adjacent outdoor eating area work really well together as does the layout of the bedrooms. The pool is larger than the photos suggest. We are envious of the property owners!
Only two minor negatives - the indoor air fan system runs 24/7 and is noisy in the master bedroom (although a couple of glasses of wine help), and secondly the pool heating system can also be a little noisy at certain times of the day, neither of which should detract from the overall experience.

Ideal for a family holiday
We have just returned from a week in Il de Re, staying at this lovely property. The house is ideally situated just 5 minutes walk from the town. It has plenty of space for a large family and the pool area at the back also offers lots of room for sunbathing. The table tennis table was put to good use during our stay, and we hired bikes for the week which was a great way to see the island. Agnes was very helpful whenever we needed to contact her and we especially appreciated the assistance with keeping our luggage for a few hours at the end of our rental while we waited to travel to the airport. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone considering a holiday in Il de Re.

Fabulous!
Gorgeous villa with everything you need for a comfortable, fun and relaxing holiday. Beautifully decorated house with great outdoor space... lovely pool, seating areas and table tennis table! Ideally located for walking into La Flotte and exploring further on bike. Would highly recommend this villa to anyone visiting Ile de Re.

Fantastic
We have just returned after a 1 week stay at this beautiful villa. The villa itself is suberb--- clean, well equipped and spacious. It is decorated to a high standard. The kitchen and bathrooms were all well equipped and clean.
The pool is a great size, my children spent most of the week in it.
The location of the villa is great--close to the restaurants and markets, it was lovely to be able to walk to everything.
Ile de Re is a beautiful place and this villa made our holiday even more special.
Agnes was fantastic in helping us with whatever we needed.
We would love to return again one day.

Lovely Property
This is a lovely house. Very well equipped and spacious. Plenty of room for our four children. Great pool, and outside area. The kitchen is very well equipped and great to cook in. Location is perfect, very quiet yet walking distance of the beautiful harbour and restaurants. Only negative was that I stupidly left 3 pairs of shorts behind and the agent promised to send them back (at our expense) but they have never turned up!

About the neighborhood
Ile de Ré is a captivating island off the south west coast of France near La Rochelle. Ile de Ré is a chic location with a background of picturesque harbours, restaurants and long white sandy beaches. Cycle paths cover the island and the narrow streets of the 10 villages make foot or bicycle the best way to get around. The island is 19km x 6km and is joined to the mainland by a spectacular 3km bridge. La Flotte en Ré is a picturesque village around an old fishing harbour with many cafes and restaurants and in the tiny streets of the old town you will find a medieval market open all year. La Flotte en Ré is steeped in history, has a rich community and next to the harbour is a large sandy beach reached by foot or along the cycle path.
Getting around
The best way to enjoy the island is on bike and St Martin (the Capital of Ile de Ré) is just a 15 min ride away and most of the island can be explored this way with or without the use of a car. The cosmopolitan city of La Rochelle is only a 15 km away adding many possible activities and visits to your stay. You can drive however, there is a great passenger ferries service every day from St Martin de Re to La Rochelle Old Port (45 mins by sea). There are also buses every hour from La Flotte harbour to La Rochelle centre ville.

How to get there
La Rochelle lies halfway down the Atlantic coast, midway between Nantes and Bordeaux. Ile de Ré is linked to La Rochelle by a 3km bridge. Return charges for a car - 9 euro low season, 16,50 euro high season. Motorbikes - 2 euro; and bikes and Pedestrians - free. (Season tickets available at the bridge office)

EUROSTAR - from Waterloo or Ashford to Pairs Gare du Nord and connect with the TGV La Rochelle Station has daily direct connections to Nantes, Bordeaux and Paris-Montparnasse by TVG Atlantique. The journey Paris - La Rochelle takes around 3 hours.

LOCAL TAXI - There are many taxi firms and a well occupied rank at the airport, railway station and centre ville. If there is no taxi at the Airport then there is a free telephone point to call one.
