Hot water is electrically heated and the large 300L tank ensured loads of hot water for bathing and showering. Fresh towels can be provided at any time during your stay at a small charge to cover laundering.
The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen including an American fridge freezer with ice-maker and drinks dispenser, cooker, microwave, dishwasher, expresso coffee maker, kettle, toaster etc.. It even includes mugs, teapot, and tea bags! The kitchen is fully stocked with cutlery, dining sets, glassware, kitchen implements and cookware for 6 people. Basic items such as salt, pepper, dishwashing tablets and liquid, bin-bags, toilet rolls , washing powder, hand soap, tea, coffee, sugar and cleaning products are all supplied saving you the hassle and expense of buying large packs of these items. We even throw in a small welcome pack which can vary to include wine, bakery products, milk, flowers or seasonal fruit. This ensures that even if you arrive in the middle of the night you have something in the larder.
Oftentimes in the summer Chantel and Serge, who look after the property and live next door will provide you with seasonal fruit and vegetables from their expansive garden.
The kitchen also has a TV which receives English Satellite stations.
The kitchen area has a first aid kit, fire blanket and the apartment is fitted with both smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
The kitchen has dining table and chairs for 4 people.
The lounge / sitting room is large and comfortable with three two seater couches.It has a wood burning stove which is lovely to light in the colder weather. The room is filled with light and catches the sun for most of the day. All windows are curtained and shuttered which allows for privacy and together with really thick walls allows you to keep the house cool in the heat of the summer. The lounge comes equipped with a large flat screen TV, UK satellite receiver and a DVD player. The TV has both French channels and also all your favourite UK television and radio stations. Located elsewhere in the house you will find a library of dvd which you are welcome to use. Also there is a video player you can borrow with over a hundred videos, including loads of kids favourite movies.
The sitting room also has a large armoire containing a hoover, brush and shovel, mop and bucket, large fan, hair-dryer, iron and ironing board and a clothes dryer.
Within minutes of the house is the local bakery, restaurant and corner shop. The main town of Prades (2km) hosts a bustling Tuesday market and is famous for its summer classical musical festival. Beautiful views make the area ideal for walking/ painting holidays.
Ski Resorts of Font Romeu and Les Angles are only a 45 minute drive away, Both have a varied mix of ski runs and are ideal for the beginner and intermediate skier. Further afield at about one and a half hours are the slopes in Andorra.

Beautiful French getaway
We had a great stay in the beautiful 'river apartment' and loved every moment of it. The building is a lovely old French house with a wonderfully grand entrance hall and all the character and charm you would expect to find in a period French building. The apartment itself was perfect for us. Original tiled floors in the bedrooms, stripped wood floors in the living room and a fabulous fireplace with a huge wood burning stove, perfect for cold evenings curled up in front of the fire. The main bedroom has its own private balcony over looking the river below and we enjoyed sitting in the evenings with a glass of wine listening to the flow of the water. It is set back from quite a busy road but we didn't have any problems with noise in the apartment and it was extremely handy for trips up into the mountains. There are several ski resorts all under an hour away which we made the most of during our stay! Andorra is also only an hour and a half too. You can also take the 1 euro train from the village into Perpignan, an absolute bargain and much more relaxing than taking the car. There are great picturesque walks you can do from the apartment including a nice easy walk into nearby Prades or up to Villefranche de Conflent for the slightly more adventurous!
The hosts, Patrick and Catherine are brilliant, so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. They often left us little surprises such as fresh bread or cakes, which was a really lovely touch.
We absolutely loved our time in Ria and couldn't recommend it highly enough. We will be back!

A very enjoyable holiday
This area of France is very scenic with scope to sample many things. Andorra is about 1 hr 45 mins away and a great place for an overnight stay with fab duty free shoping, had an enjoyable ski lift ride also!
About an hour and a half away is Roses in spain - a nice marina resort with lots of interesting "gin palaces" to oggle!
In the very near locality is many interesting places to visit, ie Villefrance, Eus, and superb beaches are to be found nearby at Perpignon. Apartment itself was spacious and light and the facilities very good. The welcome from the owner who lives nearby was excellent and very friendly, cooked us dinner on the first night and shared several of his bottles of wine with us, our holiday so busy we did not get to repay the nice gesture - however if you are reading this Padraigh - thank you very much!!! Weather was fab 32 -39 degrees every day - was a shock to come back to England which was cold, drab and grey. Will definately go back to this area of France again and would have no hesitation in staying at this apartment again - a very enjoyable holiday!

Stunning internal property
Although waiting for local mayor to approve renovation of the outside, the inside has been finished to the highest standards. Everything you could want on a holiday and some more. The Private balcony is a great way to finish each day, looking out over the village. Plenty to do and see in the area, well worth a visit.
