This charming 15th century stone cottage situated within the walls of the beautiful medieval bastide of Domme, Dordogne offers comfortable accommodation for up to 6 guests with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Situated at the top of rue Porte de la Combe, it is ideally located within a few minutes' walk from shops, bars and restaurants. From the picturesque front terrace, the front door opens onto a stylish large open-plan Living/Kitchen area: The Living area offers 2 comfortable sofas, TV with DVD and FreeSat (UK FreeSat currently installed, French FreeSat to be introduced in 2021), Sony Bluetooth speaker, 2 x coffee tables, elegant mango-wood cupboard and mirror with a selection of guide books and leaflets, clock, wooden dining table and 6 chairs. The larger-than-life fireplace holds a recently installed wood-burning stove to keep you cozy during the cooler evenings during the autumn and winter months. Wood is available at no extra charge. The Kitchen area is fully equipped with electric oven/hob/extractor fan, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, fridge-freezer, toaster/grill, kettle, coffee making accessories, and a good range of crockery and cooking accessories/utensils, iron and ironing board. Leading from the Kitchen area, is a private, part-covered patio area with patio table and 6 chairs where you can relax and enjoy alfresco dining on one side and comfy rattan garden sofa with 2 armchairs on the other side. Recently renovated with a newly laid travertine paving stones. The open-plan wooden staircase leads both upstairs and downstairs: Downstairs set on the bottom floor is the large Master Bedroom (35sqm) consisting of king-size bed (180cm/6ft), large rug, 2 bedside tables and table lamps, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table with stool and mirror, TV with UK FreeSat, 2 electric radiators and hair dryer. This is a cool room in the heat of the summer and has nice inward opening windows with window grill and shutter opening onto the rue Porte de la Combe. The archway leads to a luxury ensuite shower room comprising of double-sink vanity unit, toilet and large shower (120cm x 90cm) and electric towel rail. All bed linen and towels are provided. Upstairs set on the 1st floor the landing area leads onto: 1 double Bedroom consisting of a queen-size bed (160cm/5ft), chest of drawers, 2 rugs, 2 bedside tables and table lamps, hanging rail and hair dryer 2nd smaller double Bedroom consisting of a small double bed (140cm/4ft), chest of drawers 1 rug, 1 bedside table and table lamp and hanging rail Bathroom with toilet, wash basin unit with 2 drawers and shower unit. The former owner, a local resident of Domme, has spent the last few years sympathetically restoring this former Doctor's house to its former glory, retaining the magnificent fireplace set on the ground floor Living/Kitchen area. Please note, because of the open plan wooden stairs, care and attention should be taken at all times when using the stairs, particularly with young children. There are hand rails attached to 2 of the walls, no bannister rail has been installed as yet and we are looking to address this issue in the near future. There is a steep step from the Master bedroom down into the En-suite shower room. As there are no bedrooms on the ground floor it is not wheelchair accessible. There is currently no handrail and we are looking to address this in the near future. Simply select the "currency tab" to choose the currency you wish to pay in. We would prefer payment to be made in Euros, rather than GBP Sterling. Cleaning Charge is not included in the nightly rate Refundable Damage Deposit is not included in the nightly rate Tourist Tax (Taxe de Sejour) is not included in the nightly rate Street Parking is available opposite and adjacent to the property. A free of charge parking permit is provided for all guest stays when parking in the parking bays allotted for guests/residents.
