Safe, clean and convenient
Traveled with family. If you have never been to Nicaragua or stayed in a home, this may be an adventure unless however you are fluent in Spanish. The house is very nice and convenient to town. We walked all over the city. The power comes and goes and there was an annoying dog nearby that barked at night. We were gone during the day so it was not an issue. We did not cook but great restaurants are close by. I did a lot of research and this was by far superior to many other homes for the price. Use GPS for transports and eat at Pita Pita, garden cafe, restaurant de art, nectar, and kathys. Tip nicely they are nice people and make sure and do the lava trip at night. We used Erick's for adventures out. Lots of fun things to do in a small city that abounds in color and culture. Food was always fresh and delicious.

About the neighborhood
Granada, the oldest Colonial city in the Americas, is a gemstone that has been picked up, polished off and is beginning to shine.
The architecture alone is enough to make Granada a memorable destination but there is so much more here to see. The churches and cathedral are one of a kind and have been renovated to show off the splendor of the city. Granada is also a city of culture with museums, art galleries, music and dining. Artisans are abundant. Head to the park and grab a horse drawn buggy and take a tour of the city. Or see the Isletas (small islands), all 352 of them, which form a chain on the banks of Lake Nicaragua, the world’s 10th largest lake. You can take a boat tour of the Isletas and see mangroves, monkeys, and birds.
Getting around
Getting around Granada is quite easy. Although a car isn't necessary for exploring the city there are many exciting day trips you can enjoy by driving. On street parking is allowed in our neighborhood or a secure parking lot is located a few blocks away. For those without a car who want to venture outside the city buses run everywhere or a private car and driver can be arranged.
Most people find that walking is the way to go here in the city. The city center, museums and restaurants are a leisurely 10-15 minute walk through the beautiful old streets. Also a taxi to anywhere in the city only costs about $ .30 per person.
