Our waterfront cottage has a world class waterview! This spot is absolutely the best waterfront location in Chincoteague. Our cottage sits overlooking the Assateague Island where the wild Chincoteague ponies run free, the beautiful lighthouse and Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. In addition, our cottage is located right by a nice deck on the water with picnic tables and chairs, outside grill, tiki hats, dock space, fishing and crabbing piers etc.There is also a little sandy area with beach chairs and palm trees where you can just lay down and relax. All of that for you to enjoy!
There is also a marina right on the premises where you could rent a boat, canoe, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and go to explore the islands by water or just rent fishing gear (right on premises as well) and try to catch your dinner.
Our Snug Harbor cottage is located on the tranquil side of Chincoteague which boasts one of the most incredible views on island. Our place will definitely give a feel of island life.
We accept dogs at additional $40+tax per night per dog ( 2 dogs max per cottage).
We are very proud to say that Snug Harbor has been featured in many prestigious magazines in the US like Money Magazine and Food Network Magazine as well as in Europe in a popular travel magazine Wanderlust.

Snug Harbor cottage is available for rent May until mid October but we take reservations years round.
Our family of 5 visited Snug Harbor and had a great time. The hard working staff was ready to make our time enjoyable! We boated, swam, saw wildlife—-we biked to town and beach with the older kids. The accommodations where very clean and comfortable. It was relaxing to wake up and walk our dog around the water each morning!

Cute tropical vibes. Water nearby is gorgeous and can see lighthouse/ponies. The rooms are very small but cottage is clean. Not giving 5 stars bc toaster/oven didn't work. And wifi was awful.

Had a great stay. Loved the view of the lighthouse from our window each night, especially since it was full moon. Dog friendly,clean cottage. Easy to rent kayaks on site.

Adorable water front cottages nestled within a cozy neighborhood-- just driving minutes from Main Street, gift shops, restaurants, and the beach. Super laid back! Perfect for a couple or family with older kids/teens. While the property doesn't have a pool, they do offer several water-boating activities at a cost/ fee. The owner was lovely and super easy to communicate with. I booked our reservation online and accidentally booked for 2 adults thinking i had booked 2 adults/2 kids. This property charges per person - regardless of age. While i did book 2 BRs-- the size and amount of beds was the issue. The owner quickly offered to upgrade our cottage to include the correct size and amount of beds. She also happily accommodated our need to check in after hours. The cottage was beautiful ! It definitely fit our needs. Will absolutely re-book. I would post pics if able!

The staff are very polite and helpful. The cottages are clean and well maintained. And the view is stunning. It made my vacation very enjoyable!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom waterfront cabin. Cabin was very clean and comfortable. It sits maybe 100 feet from the water, across which you can see the wild Chincoteague ponies. You do need binoculars to get a good look. I also saw some dolphins from the cabin's deck. We didn't go to fish, but this seems like a great place for fishing. They rent small boats, also kayaks and canoes. The owner's were friendly. The only negative was their wasn't any closets and only limited drawers for clothes.

Snug Harbor is a very clean well taken care of location. Super friendly owners. The location is awesome, right across from the Lighthouse. Horses were in view everyday.

Functional, cottage that worked for our family for one night. The weather and mosquitoes did not cooperate with using the marina, but we enjoyed the setting. Basu was great with offering dinner and activity recommendations.

Our family of four enjoyed our little cottage for two nights. The location was perfect, close to great seafood restaurants yet quiet, peaceful and relaxing looking out over the water to Assateague Island and the lighthouse. We loved the character of the cottages, well-equipped, clean and comfortable. Our children loved being right along the water, awesome crabbing, an exciting boat ride, ducks quaking right outside your door. The grounds were well kept...sand, palm trees, tiki huts, boat and kayak rentals. We hope to stay longer next time:)

Getting around
Best way to see what Chincoteague and Assateague islands have to offer is to do it from the water. We have a marina right on the premises with boat, kayak, canoe, stand up paddle boards rentals as well as guided boat and kayak eco tours. Snug Harbor Marina can take care of all of those needs and make sure that you will have a great experience exploring the most remote areas of the islands.
