Charlottesville, Virginia
The Recycled House is a unique structure in Charlottesville's lovely North Downtown neighborhood. It is constructed primarily from materials that have come from somewhere else and are getting a second life. It took over five years to collect the materials and use them in a thoughtful way. The house was designed as a guest house and a lot of effort has been put into building a place that's welcoming, interesting and fun! The materials give the place a lot of soul, the light from the 33 windows is fantastic and the location could not be better!

Charlottesville's historic Downtown Mall is just 4 short blocks away giving you access to over 60 restaurants within walking distance as well as movie theaters, concert venues, grocery stores and some great shopping. The University of Virginia is less than 2 miles away and accessible by...

My mother and I were due to spend two nights at the Recycled House but unfortunately we had to cut it short and only did one night instead. I'm sure that Debra remembers us. The house is extremely interesting and Debra is very enthusiastic about her ongoing project of adding to the house. I love the way she has incorporated...

I had a really great stay. The proprietor met me and showed me around. The house has everything you would need, and the location (in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the main st mall) can't be beat. Plan to return.
