This year we've seen: moose, black bear, deer, heron, beaver, otter, geese, ducks. The family of ducks ask to be fed at least twice a day. Moose tracks have been seen on our beach. And a pair of black bear are well known to the area (keep the trash cans lids latched!). The brook has brook trout, frogs, turtles and crayfish. And of course the lake is loaded with perch, brook trout, rock bass, and mud puppies. In the surrounding woods the kids will also enjoy catching salamanders, newts, and garter snakes. Waterfront Fire Pit ! We have a burn pit on our private beach. We provide the firewood; you provide the marshmallows!More

About the neighborhood
The chalet is 10 minutes from Mount Snow and 40 minutes from Stratton. The lake is privately stocked with brook trout and rainbow trout every year (+20 years n'counting)! Wilmington has some of the best small town fireworks for July 4th. Also lots of festivals year 'round : garlic, maple, music, brewers, turnip .... The Molly Stark state park is 1 mile from the house and has a 'easy' 2 mile hike to - and from - a fire tower with a 4 state view!
