While searching for a spot to get away for a long weekend as a family, this place in Pittsburg, TX kept popping up. I am so very glad I finally clicked on it to see what it was about, and I'm even happier that we made the decision to go. We could not have asked for a better place to get away for a "technology-free" weekend. Although the house is equipped with all the technological comforts of home(cable, wireless internet, a 55" TV), we committed to leaving our devices & their distractions in the car for a few days. Jim and Paula's warm, open-armed welcome made us feel right at home and allowed us to dive right in to exploring their property together. The guest house is beautifully decorated, had everything we could possibly need, and was so comfortable. Our two sons--aged 11and 13--protested when it was time to leave. We loved exploring the woods on the trails, visiting the animals (miniature goats and chickens were the most popular), sitting by the lakes and under the tall pines trees in the back, and having family time to play games in the yard outside as well as board games around the table after dark. It was a perfect getaway in a beautiful setting for our family. We couldn't have asked for better hosts or a better home away from home.
