As you enter ‘Stoney Ranch’, you will pass through your own private, automatic gate and will drive to not one, but TWO cabins on 55 private acres. Once you arrive at the cabins, prepare for your breath to be taken away when you see the miles of panoramic Hill Country views. There are NO better views of the Texas Hill Country. They are simply amazing (the pictures here do not do them justice). The cabins literally sit on a mountain, and you will be captivated by endless views. The best time of the day is sunset: sip on a cocktail, watch the deer graze at the deer feeder, and watch the most spectacular sunsets you’ve ever seen. There are 2 cabins built with a Hill Country flair, but loaded with the modern amenities you would expect from fabulous vacation rentals. The lower cabin consists of the master suite (with king size bed, flat screen TV, newly renovated en-suite with spectacular tile shower, and large walk-in closet), the kitchen (with granite counter tops, tile back splash, gas range, garbage disposal, reverse osmosis, spice rack, and all standard appliances), and the living area (with sleeper sofa, multiple sitting areas, 50” flat screen TV, DVD player, bar w/ bar stools, and fireplace). The lower cabin features a wrap-around porch with rocking chairs, multiple seating areas, hummingbird and bird feeders, and everyone’s favorite, a HOT TUB (we provide pool towels)! There is nothing more spectacular than soaking in a hot tub, watching wildlife, and enjoying the views. The upper cabin consists of a living area (with bunk bed, sleeper sofa, sitting area, and flat screen TV), a bedroom (with 2 bunk beds and a sitting area), refrigerator, a laundry room (with washer and dryer), and a full bathroom. The upper cabin also sports a wrap-around porch and has an awesome outdoor living area as well. Both cabins have DVD players and the upper cabin has board games, cards, chess, checkers and more! It's a perfect set up - when the adults are ready to relax and unwind for the evening, they can enjoy the amenities of the lower cabin and send the kids up to the upper cabin, and they will be entertained for hours (just a few steps away)! This is a perfect retreat for authors, musicians and artists, as well. If you're seeking serenity, you've found it. Pet are welcome in our home for a minimal fee. $400 REFUNDABLE damage deposit required (separate from this site payment). Guest will be invoiced directly 30 days prior to guest arrival, and check-in instructions will not be provided until all balances are paid in full. Damage deposit will be refunded within 7 days of departure, as long as there are no damages to the property. Our calendar and rate information is up-to-date, and we try to respond to all inquiries within 3 hours.

So Relaxing...And We Love Love Love Thomas The Cat!

My husband and I had the most romantic, relaxing and delightful time during our stay at Stoney Cabin. Complete silence except for the birds and the wind. Fabulous hot tub on a very chilly night filled with stars in the sky. Wine, deep connecting, gorgeous views and property. Perfect getaway from the large city for couples in love! And most of all...Thomas!!! What a very friendly, loving and gentle cat. He was the perfect host and companion during our stay and we will miss him very much. Thank you for such a blessed visit.

Very nice property, but no dining room or large gathering place.

This is a very nice ranch and it is as described. In general, we had a good time and though we had some issues the owners were always available and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. They were also gracious enough to install a decorated Christmas tree in the main cabin at my request, nice touch. The only description that we had a conflict with is the "sleeps 14 people" leyend. In beds (bunkers,futon, sleep sofa, and the queen bed) you can accomodate 11 people. I guess they expect you to accomodate more people in the inflatable mattress they have or for guests to bring more matresses or sleeping bags, which we did, fortunately, since our party consisted of 12 people. But even this was not the main concern. The main concern is that there is no dining room or large enough gathering place for more, let's just say, than 8 people. We realized that we were going to need more bedding by carefully reading the description and decided to bring a couple of mattresses, but since the ranch "sleeps 14 people" we made the mistake of assuming that the living room was going to be big enough to be all together at once without being on top of each other. That was not the case. There are 4 tables in both cabins and a kitchen bar with stools. But each table is in a radical different place and the bar only takes valuable space from an already small living room. We ended up spending a lot of time and energy moving furniture in and out of the cabins to have a common place to eat and then all back to its original place to make space to sleep! It was an uncomfortable situation and felt constantly crowded. Granted, we made a wrong asumption, but, why Do you build a couple of cabins to sleep 11 (not 14) people with not one place that can contain all this people comfortably at once? If you are having a family reunion, what's the point of having people playing, talking or eating in 4 different places? Maybe for some families and groups that may work, it didn't for us. There are few properties in the Country Hill that offer sleeping accomodations for large groups. This is a very attractive feature of Stoney Ranch and the main reason we booked the place. In our view, the package is just not complete and the information somehow inaccurate. For this, we took one star from the rate. Another little issue: Thomas the cat, it kept coming to the cabin every night, and every night it woke us up. I guess other people wouldn't mind, or wouldn't wake up, we did, every single night and in one of them he showed up 3 times, miauing all his way in and out. Annoying. For the issues the owners were able to solve, together with Thomas the nocturnal cat we would take half a star, but we can't, so that's why you see 3 stars, but we think that the whole experience deserves 3.5 stars, to be fair. We sure recommend the ranch, it is truly beautiful, just not for large groups or families, unless you are ok with people hanging out in many different spaces.
