House Rental
Tuckaleechee Retreat Center is a Christian non-profit, which is home to the National Office for Children's Bible Ministries, Inc. We offer seven cabins/lodges of varying sizes, sleeping from 2-40 guests! The main lodge features a beautiful saltwater pool, which is available to all of our guests, open Memorial Day through Labor Day. All cabins have gas fireplaces (Firefly Lodge has an electric fireplace), fully equipped kitchens, grills, and hot tubs. Bed and bath linens are also provided! Activities available to all of our guests include the pool, basketball hoop, corn hole, and fire pit.
Our beautiful 2-story Deer Lodge offers one Master Suite on the main level with a king bed, private bath, and washer/dryer; an open loft area with queen bed, two twins, and half bath, and two lower-level...

Disappointed
Two of the bedrooms were downstairs with no access to the kitchen or living room. You had to go outside and around the side of the house to the stairs to reach the living quarters. The air conditioner did not cool the house very well (80 degrees most of the day) It cooled down during the night. Carpeting was dirty and furniture was worn. Glass sliding doors were difficult to operate. I would not stay there again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. We're very sorry for your disappointment and will definitely take your suggestions into consideration.
We wish we had been notified that the a/c was not working well and our maintenance department would have given it immediate attention. We had asked for any problems to please be reported to me or to the office while you were here, so that we might make attempts to make your stay a bit better. I'm sorry but we never received any reports of problems until now.
We are working toward replacing furniture, etc. as we can. Hopefully you might consider giving us another chance to prove ourselves in the future.

Wonderful Family Vacation
We enjoyed our family vacation stay at Deer Lodge. It was very spacious for my husband and myself, and our two (2) adult sons and their wife and fiancee'. It was very clean and had sufficient supplies for our week's stay. Great views!! We would highly recommend Deer Lodge to anyone wanting to stay in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee!! Loved it and have wonderful family memories to cherish!! Thank you Tuckaleechee Retreat Center!!

Loved Deer Lodge
We really enjoyed our stay at Deer Lodge. It was perfect for our family of 4 families. We were there with our son the night before his wedding and what a coincidence that the plaque on the bedroom walls said that the furnishing were from a family from the same town our son was born in. We would love to visit Deer Lodge again someday.

About the neighborhood
This cabin is in Townsend, TN, a peaceful town beside the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, one of the few free national parks in the U.S.!! We are nestled on the side of the mountain, overlooking the beautiful Dry Valley and Rich Mountain, where serenity abounds!
Townsend provides delicious restaurants, several options for river tubing, souvenir shopping, museums, horseback riding, and more! The National Park has endless opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, picnics, and viewing wildlife. A favorite is the Cades Cove Loop Rd which is 11 miles of scenery and wildlife in its natural habitat.
Just a short 30 minutes away, is Pigeon Forge, home of Dollywood and many fun tourist attractions and shopping options.
Getting around
You can walk or ride a bike, but we are located approximately 3 miles from "town," and the roads are steep and winding! We would recommend a car. However, biking is VERY popular in this area, so bring your bike if you like to ride!

We are located 20 minutes from Cades Cove, 30 minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, 45 minutes from Knoxville, and 2 hours from Chattanooga!
If you are flying, Knoxville airport (TYS) is a small airport just 30 minutes away, very simple to navigate. Airlines that fly into TYS are Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, and United.
