About the neighborhood
Sitting on the front porch, I am looking at the most spectacular view of the mountains. It is quite with a constant breeze through the valley. Completely surrounded by mountains, the very small community is not accustom to tourist. But I know about all 987 people in Shady Valley and may be related to most of them some way. I can see the crossroads of hwy 91 and US 421 - most popularly known to motorcyclists as 'The Snake'. I haven't seen a car in about 20 minutes, so i decide to walk down the road to get a biscuit at the Shady Diner. As I walk in, my niece and I are greeted with a friendly hello and prompt service. I got a egg and cheese biscuit and large coffee - and she got a chicken biscuit (real chicken) and an orange juice. We paid 6.04. There were about 5 people in there cou...

Located in a small town in the mountains, getting around is just fun scenic driving! From water sports to shopping, you can find fun everywhere around.
