Upstairs there are three bedrooms; one double room with cot, one twin room and one box bedroom with 2' 6" wide single bed more suited to a minor. The cottage is double glazed and heated throughout by Economy 7 electric storage heaters. Brynteg has a large South facing lawned garden.
The road opposite the cottage leads directly onto the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which covers almost every kind of maritime landscape from rugged clifftops and sheltered coves to wide open beaches and winding estuaries.
The Coast Path walking in either direction is superb. This is the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park at its best. Walk west to Porthgain, The Blue Lagoon and Abereiddi. Walk east to Abercastle, Aber Mawr, Pwll Deri and Strumble Head. During the spring and early summer the path displays an array of wild coastal flowers, and there is a wealth of bird life. Colonies of seabirds nest along the cliffs, and a huge variety of European seabirds are supported by the uninhabited offshore islands that act as bird sanctuaries, such as Skomer, Skokholm and Ramsey Island. Seals, porpoises and dolphins can often be spotted.
Unfortunately we do not accept pets at Brynteg

Just back from a great week in Brynteg Holiday Cottage.
The property is full of old world charm and yet was spotlessly clean and very well equipped for all of our needs - It is clear that the owners have really gone the extra mile to ensure that guests are well catered for.
Trefin is such a peaceful village and ideally located for beautiful walks in either direction along the stunning coastline.
The scenery and variety of wildlife mean that I have now got a LOT of photos to download and process.
Didn’t want to leave.

A perfect holiday base
This has to be the most well thought out and equipped cottage we have stayed in (well done David and Diane)! Even before our arrival David had posted instructions, advice and brochures to us which were most helpful. The cottage was very homely and comfortable; a pleasure to come back to after a hard days holidaying! There is plenty to do and see in the area, our highlights being Castell Henllys Iron age village and the Bishop's Palace in St. Davids. We ate in (and out with a takeaway) at The Shed in Porthgain and thoroughly enjoyed the food. For local grocery shopping the Spar at the Square & Compass is ideal. In all a very enjoyable break!

Great cosy cottage in great location with everything you need
A lovely find, we made a last minute booking and David was extremely helpful, the cottage has everything you need and good instructions for the facilities. Plenty of information on local attractions and David even emailed us with train and bus links as my friends came via public transport. The bus stop is literally across the road in the village. Their is a cafe that does excellent breakfast, beaches are a short bus or car ride away and their is a SPAR and garage within a mile or so on the main road. There is a good selection of DVD's. The cottage is perfect for a family, very typical of the area and all was very clean with little extras, like soap, tea towels, and kitchen roll and foil all provided. So helpful when you are making sandwiches to take on a picnic! There is no wifi, but we had 4G on EE, so not worried and probably nice to be away from it!

Cosy cottage in beautiful southwestern Wales
Five of us stayed at this cottage during our "roots" trip to rural Wales. It is a lovely cottage in a beautiful coastal area of the country. It is well equipped, excepting the fact towels are not provided. We knew that condition when we booked, but had forgotten about it by the time we traveled. On the bright side we now have souvenir towels with the flag of Wales on them purchased at nearby St David's to remind us of the stay :-).
The cottage was very clean. The owner was extremely responsive. There are several small villages nearby with good seafood options. Hiking was outstanding. Beaches nearby are nice as well. There is also an ancient dolman site a short hike away (1 mile?). I recommended this property.

Lovely cottage in a lovely part of the world.
Have stayed twice and will be doing so again. Quiet location but with pub and excellent cafe, The Mill, a short walk away along with access to the coastal path.

I can't praise it enough
We feel we hit the jackpot when we arrived in Brynteg. The cottage is extremely well equipped. The rooms are tastefully decorated. There is a lovely garden at the back. You reach the coastal path in five minutes either up on the cliffs or down at a picturesque beach. Ideal location for maby gorgeous walks and for St. David's and Fishguard and much more!

Wonderful holday
Had a lovely holiday. Cottage was spacious and comfortable, well equipped and with a more than adequate garden space and outdoor furniture. Lovely thick walls guaranteed a cool indoor space, which was needed as the outdoor temperature for the whole of our holiday was around 27-30 degrees. The owner David was really helpful. The village was very quiet with a pub 1 minute along the road. No shop in the village though. nearest one was a couple of mins by car or about 15-20mins by foot. A lot of that uphill. Found a lovely pub along the main road toward St David's called The Farmers Arms. Had a lovely lunch there on the sunday. Lots of things to do in Pembrokeshire. A trip out on boat to Skomer is a must. The only problem was the awkwardness of the parking of our car. Had to park it on an incline because there is quite a sheer slope from the roadside to the front gate of the cottage. Caught the underside of our car one day which caused slight damage. So be careful. All in all it was great holiday. Many thanks David.

Trefin is a small village. The bay Aberfelin is within eight minutes walk from Brynteg (leave cottage and turn left). It is rugged and typical of the north Pembrokeshire coast, but there are many sandy beaches within easy reach of Trefin. The village has an inn, tea rooms and craft centre. Trefin is a place for those who are desirous of escaping from the rush and roar of city life to perfect peace, quietness and tranquility. It is for those people who wish to be away from the everlasting sound of passing traffic, who wish nothing more than to relax, sunbathe on any choice of beaches, swim, walk the cliff top paths, watch the endless number of birds, spot seals, identify the countless wild flowers, or fish from the tiny walled harbour of Porthgain.
Getting around
The ‘Strumble Shuttle’ coastal bus service (404) runs between Fishguard and St Davids, stopping at Goodwick, Pontiago, Strumble Head, Trefasser Cross, St Nicholas, Tregwynt, Mathry, Abercastle, Trefin, Llanrhian, Porthgain, Abereiddi and St Davids. This is a hail and ride service with three services to Fishguard and three services to St Davids during the summer months.
Service T11 runs through the village with several services to Fishguard and and St Davids / Haverfordwest. (Operated by Richards Brothers). There are connecting services from Fishguard to Cardigan and beyond.
Check with Richard Brothers buses for restricted Covid bus timetables.
