At the heart of a region rightly famous for its history, culture and award winning cuisine, Felin Hedd, in the beautiful Teifi Valley, is close to the 'Cors Caron' nature reserve (the last remaining Bronze Age bog in Europe) and just 16 miles inland from the Wales Coast Path. The local landscape ranges from Coastal Wales (Lonely Planet's top region to visit in 2012) to the Cambrian Mountains, and with easy access to numerous outdoor pursuits, it's an unbeatable destination for families, interest groups, and anyone seeking a balance of relaxation and adventure amidst the sea, river and hills-capes of Mid Wales.
Further details indoors:
Starting our virtual tour of the mill from the entrance hall, on the left hand side we see the corridor leading to the main kitchen dining area, featuring the original iron wheel pulley system used to run the threshing mechanism in the building's days as a working mill. This area also includes a mezzanine floor, opening onto a balcony terrace, which provides a second lounge area, and overlooks the well equipped barbecue terrace. To the right hand side are situated the main sleeping and lounge facilities . Returning to the entrance hall, you will also find a fully equipped utility room with washer/drier, and a downstairs cloakroom, and located to the rear of the building is the 'Drying Room', ideal for stowing and airing wet, muddy activity gear and which also provides access, via the Plant room , to the ground floor bathroom. Opposite the mill are the former stables, which contain a games room (where you may enjoy a game of pool, darts or air hockey) and equipment store (essential for stowing activity gear).
There are 4 thoughtfully decorated double/twin bedrooms in Felin Hedd, which can sleep up to 10 persons. These are divided into two 'sleeping suites', located on the ground and first floors respectively, which, when combined with the dual lounge facilities, could easily provide sleep/relaxation areas for 2 separate families.
The ground floor master bedroom at the rear of the building is accessed via a corridor leading from the main lounge. It has a king size bed, TV/DVD, and double French doors leading onto a secluded terrace. The twin ground floor bedroom next door also has two additional 'pull out' beds, and is ideal as a children's room. The ground floor bathroom , completes this suite, and has a separate walk in shower and double ended bath. Located on the first floor to the rear of the landing area, is another charming master bedroom and to the front a second double bedroom. The first floor bathroom is next door to the master bedroom, and features a shower bath.

have just returned from 4 nights at Felin Hedd. I honestly can’t say enough good stuff about this place. The views are insane. It’s so quiet, It’s just spectacular. The house is so big. The lay out is perfect and it has everything you need. If you are going with friends take a disco ball. It changes everything haha. I can’t wait to go back. The garden is enclosed too so perfect for your dogs. I will also say, I’m disabled and this house is totally accessible which is always useful to know. Loved every second

Superb house, amazing views
Family of 5 stayed here last week. The house is in a quiet beautiful setting in the heart of the countryside. Really peaceful and a fantastic quiet break. The house has been renovated to a high standard and has plenty of space for up to 8 people comfortably. Nice enclosed garden space for the dog to roam. There is a track from the house down to the river, with a picnic bench on the river bank. We sat there for ages, so peaceful! Tregaron village is a short drive that has Spar shop, chemist, cafe, butchers etc. We had Asda shopping delivery to the house to save time and hassle. My son loved playing pool and darts in the games room and the hot tub is great because its inside so can still use if it rains. Loads of dog walks in the nearby area. Cors Caron just down the road is especially nice. Will definitely return.

The owners Aled and Stacey are so welcoming and are on hand if you need anything.
I cannot credit the kitchen here enough it has everything you need and I mean everything from actifry to slow cooker with plenty of dinnerwear and cutlery.
The place is spotlessly clean with plenty of towels and has fantastic heating system.

Amazing Property
We stayed with another family so a total of 4 adults and 4 children. The property is stunning and has everything you could need for your stay. The owners were so welcoming and helpful and were always on hand if you had any queries about the area. The kids loved feeding their rabbit (numerous times a day!)and playing with the dogs. A really lovely holiday, stunning scenery and a beautiful property.

Brilliant 30th Weekend
6 of us stayed at the converted Mill and had an absolutely fab time.
Felin Hedd is a stunning, well equipped and modern property. There is also a hot tub!
We went on some lovely walks in the area, and would recommend Felin Hedd to all.
Also, expect to be greeted by very friendly cats and dogs!

Wonderful stay at this beautifully converted mill!
Felin Hedd is a huge property, beautifully renovated and very well equipped. We were two families with teenagers and a dog and the layout worked well for us (the hot tub and games room went down especially well!)
Aled was a great host, very communicative and accommodating.
The mill was in a great location to explore the surrounding area and beaches, a peaceful haven to return to after days out.

Best weekend!
Most amazing rental. The views are breath taking the barn is stunning.
We went here to celebrate my birthday. Ir was a group of 5 girls for a girly weekend the open planed kitchen and dining room still felt welcoming. The living room with the log fire was a lovely addition in the evenings. We made great use of the hot tub. The fresh lemon muffins were much appreciated after a 5 hour journey. The master suite your views are of sheep which I loved, spent one morning with a cup of tea watching them it was peaceful. The owner has cats and dogs who love attention, which my friends and me loved. Would love to go back in the summer and have longer evenings as when it gets dark it's dark. But my friends have already asked me to do it again and one is looking to book for her birthday. You are left alone even though the owner lives on site and is super friendly. The games room we loves playing pool and darts. We drove 17 mins to the nearest supermarket is a spar closer but was quite expensive. Suprisingly none of us had any issue with signal and had 4g. Would recommend flicking through folder as we went for a walk to find the river and went the complete wrong way but is a map in folder.

A very special holiday
We have just returned from a family holiday staying at Felin Hedd.
We stay at cottages all around the UK and I am pleased to say that Felin Hedd is amongst the best for so many reasons.
We had seven people in our group, adults and children. So with a wide age range we needed a location that fitted the bill on so many different levels. Felin Hedd ticked the boxes for all of us.
The mill has been beautifully renovated by Aled to a really high standard. Modern living in a historic mill.
Bedrooms great size, bathrooms too. View over the hills from the master bedroom made this the parents choice!
The dining area and kitchen were ample size with good facilities. The lounge and open fire were a treat as was the mezzanine seating area with Wii for the younger boys, they loved it for early morning games before the adults had wiped the sleep from their eyes!
Other facilities were brilliant; games room for much nighttime use as did the hot tub room, with stunning views. The boot room helped dry wet shoes and clothes as the weather was not great.
The location is terrific. Walks nearby, fly fishing on a stretch of the Tefi at the end of the field. About an hour drive to many places took us boating in Brecon, archery and shooting in Aberystwyth, white water tubing near Lampeter and cycling at the beautiful Pembrey Country Park. We are an active family!
Eating out was a joy. Three horseshoe inn near Brecon is a must along with Lloyds fish and chips in Lampeter and the Red Kite Cafe near Aberystwyth.
I would recommend Felin Hedd 100% and to cap it all Aled was such a kind and friendly host.

Ceredigion
Ceredigion is blessed, not only with stunning scenery, but also with vibrant, hospitable towns and villages which are an ideal way to experience the language, tradition and history of the county. One popular town is Aberystwyth, also known as the Capital of Mid-West Wales, home not only to the National Library of Wales, open to the public all year round, but also the Aberystwyth Arts Centre, one of the largest centres in the UK, offering a huge variety of cultural experiences in its galleries, theatre, cinema, touring exhibitions, and workshops. Further inland the university town of Lampeter hosts an annual food festival, part of a longstanding tradition of food festivals held all over Ceredigion, showcasing particularly the award winning artisan food and drink produced in this part of Wales, including many products endorsed by the Mynyddoedd Cambrian Mountains initiative. The county is also fortunate that so many of its fascinating and imposing monuments are easily accessible to visitors, a good example being the old abbey at Strata Florida.
The 18th century estate at Llanerchaeron is also a fine example of Ceredigion's agricultural past and traditions preserved, and a living introduction to the history of the old Welsh Gentry.
