Ty Traeth ( meaning Beach House ) a Luxury Holiday Home, was built in 2016 replacing The Old Boatshed, in a prime position on the Esplanade in the historic town of Criccieth. Criccieth is on the Llyn Peninsula on the shores of Cardigan Bay. The town itself is overlooked by the 13th Century Criccieth Castle. Ty Traeth was designed and built to maximize the magnificent panoramic views of beach and sea to the South, from Harlech Castle, with its amazing mountain backdrop to the east, round to the historic Criccieth Castle overseeing the town to the west. Ty Traeth was designed and built to maximize the magnificent panoramic views of beach and sea to the South, from Harlech Castle, with its amazing mountain backdrop to the east, round to the historic Criccieth Castle overseeing the town to the west. The house is of a contemporary building design with furnishings to match. The accommodation comprises of three bedrooms, one ensuite with king size bed, the second with super king or twin beds ( confirm your preference on booking ) and third bedroom with single bed. A family bathroom and entrance hall complete the downstairs area. The main living accommodation, kitchen, dining area and lounge are upstairs, again taking full advantage of the amazing views. The large lounge patio doors give access to the spacious balcony, whilst the toughened safety glass sides enable you to enjoy the uninterrupted sea views. Take in the stunning sunsets whilst enjoying an evening beverage or two and if you’re really lucky you may even see the Dolphins hunting close to the shore line. Just a short walk from the house finds Criccieth’s gently sloping and sheltered east beach. This beach, with its safe bathing and exciting rock pools is a great playground for children. Passing in front of the property is the Llŷn Coastal Path which stretches from Pwllheli to Porthmadog, providing access to stunning walks on your doorstep. If a long walk is not for you, try a short stroll along the esplanade bringing you to the heart of the town, revealing its quaint cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants. Criccieth has the added convenience of its own railway station on the Cambrian Line, which runs behind the house. The Cambrian Line passes through a number of beautiful holiday resorts along the Welsh coast whilst taking in the stunning scenery of the journey.

Small well behaved dogs by approval only. An additional fee of £20 per week will be payable. We are unable to accept bookings from 'stag' or 'hen' parties.

Excellent property, exceeded all our expectations.
Excellent stay from start tofinish. The house was warm, immaculate and very welcoming on arrival, beautifully laid out with a broad view over the sea front, and the location was perfect, with all amenities within walking distance. Criccieth itself has pubs, restaurants, chip shops and convenience stores. The materials provided, bedding, kitchen equipment, furnishings were all complete and high quality. Even small details like a pair of binoculars for looking out to sea. We definitely recommend this property and will be booking again very soon.

Another amazing stay.
Another amazing stay in this beautiful upside down house. Because of the glass surrounding the balcony we have been able to sit out every day. As always, the house was warm, comfortable and inviting when we arrived. Don't tell too many people though, otherwise it will be fully booked when you look. Thank you once more Jane & Graham xx

Wonderful - you must go!
Just the most fantastic holiday! The accommodation was amazing, spacious, spotless and probably the most well equipped I’ve stayed in - the bedding was lovely quality too. Right on the beach, stunning views and an ideal spot to get around and see lots of North Wales. I really can’t recommend it enough.

Absolutley Beautiful
The location is ideal front line to the beach and a couple of hundred metres away from the famous Dylans Restaurant. It is easy access to the beach the castle and all other amenities Criccieth has to offer. It has a great private parking facility for two cars. Every conceivable thing you would need in the apartment was availabile and catered for the cleanliness was second to none. It was home from home. I would not hesitate in booking this apartment again. Graeme the host was easily accessable and telephoned me before my arrival.

A Perfect Winter Sanctuary!
Many reviews are based on summer occupancy, but the test of a truly great holiday property is its ability to provide everything that you need in the middle of winter! This beautiful house provides that in spades! While we watched the spectacular winter seas from the massive floor to ceiling windows we couldn't have been warmer, with underfloor heating, towel rails and obvious top level insulation providing a beautiful base to which to return from the long walks that we enjoyed every day. Fantastic hosts, provided great communication both before and after our holiday and we shall definitely return!

Another fabulous stay in this beautiful house
Our 2nd visit here. October can be changeable in Criccieth and it certainly was! Sun one day and storms the next. All made for an ever changing sea outside our picture window. The house is well insulated and well equipped for all weathers. All very comfortable and clean. What more could you ask for

What a fabulous place
What a fabulous place to stay, the pictures really don't do it justice. Absolutely stunning views, and right opposite the dog beach which was perfect for Poppy. The accommodation is really well equipped with super comfortable beds. The owners were a delight to deal with too. We highly recommend Dylans restaurant too, great food and cocktails. We will certainly be back!

Excellent accommodation in great location with wonderful views
The location is perfect - views straight over the sea which you can even enjoy whilst eating breakfast and planning a great day out. Beach is a minute away and Dylan's restaurant is almost on the doorstep. The kitchen has everything you'll ever need, the lounge area has wonderfully comfortable seats and the balcony is a sun trap on a warm day when you can sit and watch the world go by as you sip something cool and refreshing. Everything was properly cleaned and prepared, even some Bara Brith to welcome us as we made our first drink on arrival. Criccieth itself is a great location for both the Llyn Peninsula and back towards Snowdonia or down past Harlech. Highly recommended. (The only downside is that the local chippy is so good there's always a queue - usually the conversation whilst waiting is lovely anyway but plan on waiting more than an hour on a busy day!! With a decent set of binoculars you can check on the queue from the balcony so at least you know what to expect - and last week the wait was well worth it!)

What a find!
We had such a amazing stay in this beautiful accommodation. It has spectacular views of the beach and Criccieth Castle. We walked on the beach everyday and had a lovely meal at Dylan's, next door. Equipped with all you need, Ty Traeth it is a home from home. We had great communication with the owners before and after our stay. I would highly recommend a stay here and I look forward to another stay in the future.
