The space
Rivercatcher's collection contains five luxurious cottages, one each of a one-bed, two-bed, three-bed, four-bed and five-bed, plus The Lodge. The Lodge is a place for special events, courses and also a fully equipped games room for those rainy days. Each luxury cottage will be let individually or as a collection, with accommodation for up to 30 guests at any one time.
Had a weekend break with friends and it was an amazing weekend. Everything in this cottage is immaculate and clean. It has everything you need. It is beautifully decorated and the beds were so comfortable. There is plenty of space for a group and the hot tub is an added bonus. Will definitely be going back!!

Beautiful cottage
This was our second visit to River catcher but our first in Cilan farmhouse, both visits were amazing and we will definitely come again. The cottage is beautiful inside and out. We had 8 adults and two children and it never felt cramped, especially with every room having an ensuite.
The only criticism I can give it, is that the kitchen could maybe do with an island or something as we did get in each others way abit in the mornings trying to make breakfast etc but that is being picky.
The kitchen is very well equipped though which is rare and we never struggled to cook or have enough pots etc.
The grounds are lovely and the views from the hot tub are fantastic. It's great that you can fish in the river and the games room is a nice touch, especially if you have bad weather.
Aled was very helpful and the owners couldn't do enough for you. The wine and biscuits etc in the welcome basket were delicious.
There are some walks locally but we did end up driving to most places. We used it as a base to explore other parts of Wales.

Excellent in all aspects
We have stayed at Rivercatcher regularly for the last four years and it never disappoints.
Cilan Farmhouse is perfect accommodation for a family and friends gathering . The accommodation is immaculate and very well equipped. The setting is beautiful and there is nothing better than sitting in the hot tub enjoying the peaceful surroundings overlooking the River.
We will continue to return to our favourite bolt hole in Llandrillo.

Outstanding In All Respects
What can I say but "WoW". We have just experienced a week in the Rivercatcher Cillan Farmhouse and it was just wonderful. The Farmhouse is really well equipped, has some high quality fixtures and fittings and was spotless. The layout of the house is excellent and was ideal for our family gathering. The house has a lovely large garden very well attended by the groundsman Aled. It has a patio area equipped with table and chairs and a wonderful hot-tub which we made great use of. The river Dee runs at bottom of the garden and I understand has Salmon and Grayling which can be fished for in the fishing season.
The location of Rivercatcher is ideal for experiencing the many adrenalin activities on offer in North Wales and for some great hiking. Nearby you also have friendly pubs and two top class restaurants.
Andy and his team are very welcoming and lovely to chat with. They can be justly proud of the Rivercatcher complex. I must add that the Welcome pack was brilliant supplying a selection of local produce with a great description of each.
We have rented cottages all over the UK for many years and I can honestly say that the Cillan Farmhouse is now our No1 favourite.

We booked Cilan Farmhouse and Gamekeepers for a special birthday. It was excellent. I couldn’t fault the entire experience from booking to leaving. My thanks to all at Rivercatcher, we are already planning to return and stay with you again.

Outstanding accommodation with superb facilities.
We agree with all previous reviews and had a wonderful four nights. Our lads availed themselves to the fishing in the river Dee and caught a large Salmon within 30 minutes. They also caught trout and a large Pike. Aled the grounds man was very friendly and kept the outside immaculate. We saw Mink and a Tawny Owl serenaded us whilst we sat late into the evening in the Hot Tub. Netflix worked well on all the TV,s and the furnishings were top quality. Our boys enjoyed the large games room called the Lodge. A wonderful break and a wonderful place. The owners were very friendly and we can only recommend you find out for yourself.

Absolutely beautiful cottage and location!
We stayed at Cilan from Friday - Monday and it was just perfect. It was jaw dropping upon arrival at how beautiful the cottage is maintained, and the location it is situated in. Their are so many small touches around the cottage such as the welcome pack and the finer details. I wish I had taken my dogs, as it is the perfect place for them, being enclosed! We were right by the river, which was just beautiful. We used both the hot tub and the Netflix service, which were both great additions. The kitchen has everything you need for a wonderful stay. We went into the nearby village of Corwen to get food supplies, and also took a trip to Bala Lake - Both highly recommended. Very close by (less than 0.5 miles) is Get Wet (a wet adventure place), and a 40 minute drip is Zip World - Which we did. Highly recommend a stay here, and can't wait to stay again!

Exquisite Property - Excellent in every way!!
We have just returned from an Easter break at Rivercatcher where stayed at the Cilan Farmhouse. It was by far the best property we have ever stayed in and there is nothing you can fault. The location (even in the rain) was amazing and the owners were brilliant - not intrusive at all which I have found to be an issue at other rentals. We were fortunate enough to have a sneak preview of the new lodges which are out of this world, the only problem being you would want to try each one as they are all so unique!! We will definitely be making a booking soon.

Beautiful house for a get together with friends!
I couldn't recommend Cilan Farmhouse enough! Stayed here with old school friends as part of our 30th Birthday celebrations and everything was just perfect. The house is stunning with beautiful decoration, all large bedrooms with en-suites (so no arguments over who got the best room!) and the location is very idyllic. Our days were spent walking, relaxing in front of the fire, fishing and enjoying the gorgeous hot tub! In the evenings we had fun cooking together in the large kitchen followed by eating together at the huge dining table. On the Sunday afternoon, we also stumbled upon the fantastic Tyddyn Llan, a Michelin starred restaurant that's just a short walk away and does a great Sunday Lunch offer. We are already looking at booking this cottage for next year and making it a yearly event. Thank you Rivercatcher!
