About the neighborhood
The cottage is in a quiet, very pretty mews-style street in the conservation area of the historic market town of Llandovery. The castle is less than 100 metres from the house. The town has a number of small local businesses including plenty of cafes and restaurants. You can buy freshly-baked bread from the Patisserie, which is less than two minutes walk away. Takeaway food is also available in the town. There is a good fenced playground about 150 metres from the house and there are many walks in this wonderful, scenic location. There are also many tourist attractions within easy driving distance and the 'Heart of Wales' railway also provides opportunities for interesting days out.
Getting around
Driving is a pleasure in this part of Wales, as traffic is usually light. The Brecon Beacons National Park, with its lovely views and walks, is on the doorstep
Llandovery Railway Station provides a great opportunity to ride through picturesque scenery. Going North, you can ride over the amazing Cynghordy Viaduct and up into the hills. Riding South, the railway runs through rich farm land to Swansea and the coast.
Several interesting walks can be taken on foot from the cottage.
There are also some good areas for Mountain Biking within easy reach.
Car advised
How to get there
Railway: Llandovery: 0.4 mi
There are a few free-to-park spaces in a lane very close to the cottage. Normally one of these will be available.
If all the free spaces are taken, it is still very easy and convenient to park in the Castle Car Park, which costs just £1.50 for a full day. If you have a very large vehicle, parking in the Car Park is recommended.
Coming by train, the scenic 'Heart of Wales' railway line stops at Llandovery.
The station is about half a mile from the cottage. If you are coming by train, please let me know and I will collect you and/or your luggage from the station.

Nearest Beach: 36.0 mi.
