The owner left all his belongings in the cupboards, their clothes, make up, footwear and such and we were told to move any offending items out of they way. We were told to move their food out of the kitchen cupboards and freezers and discard it and then clean the cupboards as required. The water obviously comes from a well and we now know it hasn't been tested. Do not drink it or even shower under it until there is adequate certification from the Environmental Health to say that it is fit for human consumption. There is nothing in any advert to say that you will be staying in a house that the owners stay in too or that they will be leaving all of their belongings behind while you borrow their house for the weekend. We obviously complained to the owner and asked him to send someone to clear out his stuff. He ridiculed us for having greater expectations than he did and told us to leave with immediate effect and threatened us with the Police if we didn't leave immediately. He ruined our birthday celebrations was dismissive and arrogant in his approach to his guests and acted without thinking.....Who throws their paid up guests out into the street with babies, young children and vulnerable adults with no thought for their safety or the consequences of his actions? This man is no Officer or Gentleman regardless of what he purports to be........

This is definitely not a cottage! It is a beautiful, high spec, clean and glorious home that is set among wonderful views. Our contact Sue was so helpful and responds quickly to any enquiries/requests. This was a family event with 3 generations. The house was just perfect and safe to explore inside and out, especially the gardens. Dollar is a lovely place with a few cafes and pubs, but we really didn't feel the need to leave. There is a lovely walk in to the village if you up for it although a bit challenging on returning. We really didn't walk to leave and are already planning a return visit next year!

We have recently returned from the most amazing family break away at Sue and Richard's beautiful Easter Cornhill Cottage. There were 10 adults, 5 children & Theo the dog and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The house was absolutely amazing and more than we ever could have imagined. The views from the 2 end bedrooms were particularly stunning and I loved waking up to them. The house itself was immaculate and had everything we needed along with some extra special thoughtful touches. We were a large group and still felt that the house was so spacious and every room was a great size. The grounds and garden were also absolutely massive and beautifully kept. The location was also perfect for us, you had the relaxing feeling of being in the middle of nowhere whilst actually being very close to the town with shops/takeaways etc. We went to Castle Campbell one morning and done the walk there which was just gorgeous and only 10 minutes along the road. Communication with Sue and Richard was also great and they were always very helpful and quick at responding to any queries. This was our first year going away for a special family anniversary and we are already planning to book for next year as we enjoyed it so much. The plan was to go somewhere different each year but I think we may have just found our home away from home. Thanks so much Sue and Richard, we are already looking forward to our next stay :-)

Quite simply a stunning property. Incredible views. High spec bathrooms, huge open plan kitchen diner. Our extended family trip was really happy throughout. We had experience using an AGA - so no bother with the oven. Quietly located. Easy transport. Highly recommended and the hosts are really nice too!

Estuvimos con unos amigos en Enero, y la verdad fue una estancia inmejorable. Empezando por la hospitalidad de Richard y Chloe. Nos encanta la naturaleza y el senderismo y Richard nos dio unos consejos buenísimos para ir a explorar la zona. La situación de la casa es perfecta: tranquila en las montañas y con unas vistas impresionantes. Pero muy bien conectada a una hora escasa de Glasgow o Edimburgo. La casa es amplia, con muchas estancias y habitaciones, cada una con su baño propio. La decoración muy cuidada y se nota que todos lo materiales son de muy buena calidad. Calentita y acogedora. Con micha luz y vistas impresionantes desde casi todas las habitaciones. Todo como en las fotos. El pueblo de Dollar es tranquilo y tiene todos los servicios para abastecerse de lo necesario. Sin duda repetiremos pronto, porque la zona da mucho de sí para hacer excursiones de un dia y nos quedo mucho por ver.

The location of the cottage is pretty special, have already booked again for september, perfect for walking out your back garden and dissapearing into the hills, you wont see anybody. Madness, really is. The village of Dollar is pretty cute aswell. great restaurant.

We booked an extended family break over the Christmas Holidays, total of 10 adults and 3 children. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax, space for the kids to play, quiet lounge and another lounge for the men to watch as much football as they wanted! The bedrooms were all spacious and there are five bathrooms, so never a queue for the loo! The house was immaculate and well maintained, as well as having all the necessary equipment to cook all our meals. Loved the area too, Dollar was quaint. We managed to get out on a couple of local walks to help burn off some of the Christmas excesses.

Thank you Richard and Chloe for allowing us to stay at your amazing house, The views are spectacular from every room and the garden is pretty special. Not a house in sight only rolling hills. thanks alot
