Enjoy a relaxing stay on our family homestead, set within private woodland. You’ll have the cottage to enjoy, with views of the mountains, woodland and wildlife. Please note that there is one bedroom with a double bed, and a double sofa bed in the living area. We provide full self-catering facilities, with a well-equipped kitchen.

Children are very welcome. Ours are 4 and 6, and very social. We have a large trampoline and climbing frame that you’re welcome to use - at your own risk, of course. Pets are welcome too, but they need to be okay with our cats, chickens, and friendly dog. We try to operate as eco-friendly as possible. All laundry and cleaning is carried out with environmentally friendly, low plastic use products.

About the neighborhood

Fort Augustus is just beautiful. You can follow the canal from the house to Loch Ness. The spectacular mountain views are interrupted only by the canal gates and bridges, and picturesque little cottages each side. It’s really a stunning place. The village boasts 3 pubs, 2 restaurants, a few cafes and gift shops, tourist centre, petrol station, and mini supermarket. There’s also a garage in case your car gets into any trouble. Fort Augustus is conveniently about an hour away from everything! Ben Nevis, Fort William, Skye, and much more. We leave a few maps and guides in the cottage for you.

Getting around

From the cottage you can walk up to the village in 10 minutes, along the main road. Or you can take the scenic route, through the golf course and along the canal, which taking about 15-20 minutes on foot. We do recommend walking during the summer months, are parking is quite hard to come by in the village. We’re not too far off the main road. Here you can turn left to the village and Inverness beyond, or right towards Fort William. We’re very conveniently situated!

How to get there

We’re close to the A82, equidistant between Fort William and Inverness. Car is best, but there are also regular along the Fort William - Inverness route. We have private parking for up to 2 cars.
