One of the more northerly of the Ochils, Craig Rossie presents a bold profile and challenge to travellers along the nearby A9. The ascent is steep and sustained but grassy, and makes for an enjoyable circular walk with extensive views. The route is not marked and paths are faint at times.

About the neighborhood
I’ve named a few of the places of interest theres also maybe a day trip to visit pitlochry. Go and see the dam and visit the centre where theres a t room and displays on how it was built.visit the moulin inn and atholl palace(there’s a small museum describing how the hotel has been used in war time till today. You can allow a full day out here(and more)..A day trip to Oban is highly recommended but further away2–2 1/2 hrs drive up the small glen(we have just been and scenery is good and the fish n chips in Oban). There’s the secret bunker over at fife (on my list to do and I’ve heard it’s worth the visit). We have also provided leaflets for more days out and believe me if your on a 3 day trip you’ll want to come back.
At craigrossie you can just relax on the site with the occasional short journey to auchterarder or Perth. or you could explore central Scotland as long as you like and use the lodge as base camp. Travelling by car is the best way to get around unless it’s day visits to the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh or to stirling, perth
