About the neighborhood
Aberfeldy sits surrounded by the hills of Perthshire with the river Tay flowing through it. For the outdoor enthusiast there are Munros to climb, white water rafting, canyoning, sailing, horse riding and golf all within a short distance of Bondhu. A two minute walk takes you into the centre of town where you will find coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, bookshops, art galleries and an array of shops. On the first Sunday of each month there is a local produce market held in the square. Local attractions vary from a reconstructed working iron age house, a deer park, gold panning, horse riding, gardens, castles and beaches nearby! Behind Bondhu is the local Community Campus offering a superb swimming pool sauna and other leisure activities.
Getting around
Kenmore Street is central in Aberfeldy. The road to the west goes all the way to Oban, Mull and the rest of the West Coast of Scotland. South out of Aberfeldy the road leads all the way to Stirling and Glasgow. In an Easterly direction the road goes to Balmoral, Deeside and Aberdeen and to the north are the Cairngorms Inverness and John O' Groats. It's even possible to drive to the end of Loch Rannoch and take the train across Rannoch Moor to Fort William and onwards to the traditional West Coast port of Mallaig. The nearest train station, 14 kilometres away, is at Pitlochry, the main line between Edinburgh Perth and Inverness.
