Lovely house comfortably accommodating our party of 13 in perfect location
This large house was ideal for our party of 13. One of the best features was the 6 en-suite bathrooms, which makes such a difference when different families are travelling together.
From the pictures the kitchen looked a little small, but it actually worked really well and the large dining area which is adjacent to the kitchen was used for prepping veggies. The kitchen is very well equipped.
The location was superb, with the harbour and beach a few minutes walk as well as easy access onto the coastal path. Crail is well served by public transport, the bus stop is just a few metres from the front door. There was lots to do as we by chance booked for Crail festival week.
The bench in front of the house had regular use, particularly in the morning when it was in full sun.
Communication with the owner was excellent.
We can thoroughly recommend it for large parties travelling together.

Lovely house but very tired
Group of 14 stayed in this lovely house and it is a great space for a large group but it is very tired and in need of some TLC. Sofa in upstairs lounge broken and the other one is well past its sell by date. Cleanliness a slight issue as we found left over random biscuits in lounge and sock and pants under one of the beds and dining table and chairs still with sticky bits from previous guests. Crail is lovely and worth visiting but Caiplie House needs an upgrade.

Perfect House, in a perfect location!
Caiplie House was brilliant, there were 14 of us staying there, 7 adults and 7 children, the house was spacious and had everything we needed, the box of toys for the kids was great. The kitchen opens on to the dining room and was a lovely place to start the day together. The only fault I could say if I was being really critical would be that there was not the enough seating in the tv room for the whole party (although there were extra sofas downstairs) but this didn’t effect how much we enjoyed it. Crail is beautiful too, it has 2 places to get general shopping, a lovely butchers, a bakery and a very tasty chippy! (As well as a beautiful harbour and galleries) we had an amazing time and we all agreed we would love to go back to Caiplie House.

Child friendly large well proportioned and appointed house
We had a great weekend with 4 energetic children and 4 adults, we were in Crail for a big family wedding so lots of family get togethers and fun.
The house was very clean and had lots of information in a large folder in the kitchen.
It was nice to have a sound proof sitting room to relax late evenings!
The boys enjoyed football in the park before the wedding at the Cow Shed.

Perfect House for a Group Holiday
Caiplie House has everything we needed for our weekend away: plenty of socialising space with the to living rooms and separate kitchen diner, and having almost all rooms en-suite was really great. The house was warm and cosy and well stocked for a large party. Highly recommended
Crail is a lovely little coast village, lots of nice shops and easy access to the coastal path, so highly recommended as a holiday destination.

Fantastic house for a reunion with friends
Stayed here for a weekend with a large group of friends - 11 adults and 4 children (3 babies in cots). The house is huge, and has lots of space for folk to spread out. The kitchen was very well equipped and was perfect for preparing large meals. We had a murder mystery dinner on the Saturday night, and the dining area was great for this - the bedrooms were all pretty sound-proof for the babies - they weren't woken by the hilarity which ensued during the game anyway! Lots to do in the surrounding area. Great walk to Anstruther (not buggy-friendly, as we soon discovered, but we managed!) Good fish and chip shop just along the road. House was clean, and comfortable, owners very friendly. Hope to return!

Fantastic house for groups
This was booked for a family birthday at Easter weekend. This house is even better than we had expected. There was loads of space for our party which had 2 children and 10 adults the dinning room was more than spacious for our needs and having 2 sitting rooms gave us all different areas. The upstairs sitting room was massive and we coal fire on at night when we retired there after dinner. The place was spotless and the owners were helpful from booking to departure. Would highly recommend this property and there was plenty to do over our 3 days.

Great house, perfect for what we wanted.
The house owners, although we never actually met, seemed lovely and really helpful. House was clean and comfortable and homely. It is situated on the High Street and you can watch the world pass by as you sit in the dining room or as you sit at the small table and 2 chairs provided outside. The nearby local residents were really friendly and always had a chat if we were outside the house. We had a lovely time in Crail, it is a beautiful place, and would highly recommend a stay at Caiplie House. There were 11 adults, three children and a dog in our group and the house was plenty big enough for all of us and it was nice to be able to all sit at one table for meals. Overall, it was a fab holiday and a fab house.

Great group accommodation
We had a great time staying at Caiplie House with a group of friends which included a number of small children. The kitchen in particular is fab- very well equipped with a nice big table. The rooms are very comfortable with plenty of space. All in all a lovely self-catering place, very close to the beach, in a beautiful part of Fife.

Famed for the golf courses but the East Neuk has so much more, coastal path, beaches, bays and cliffs.
There are some excellent restaurants in the area and plenty of good ones.
The area is home to many artists and galleries
Getting around
St Andrews is 11 miles from Crail which has an excellent selection of restaurants and cafes. The shopping is also of a very high standard for the size of the town.
