Railway Crossing Cottage is a charming detached stone cottage, originally a crossing keeper's cottage on the now disused Anstruther to St. Andrews Railway. It is located in tranquill countryside 2 miles from the villages of Crail and Anstruther and It has recently been beautifully and sensitively restored and extended, providing a cosy and warm holiday retreat for family and friends. There are distant views to The Firth of Forth and The Isle of May. There are 2 bedrooms at the property, a double room and a twin/double room, and a lovely characterful open plan sitting room and kitchen/dining area. The sitting area has a cosy wood burning stove, wooden flooring & comfy leather sofas. There is a private hot tub on the decking area with wonderful views to the surrounding countryside. There is ample parking for 2 cars at the front of the cottage. We are happy to accept 1 well behaved dog. It is a perfect location for exploring the quaint fishing villages of The East Neuk, the historic town of St. Andrews and the scenic coastline of Fife. The nearby villages of Crail and Anstruther are wonderful for exploring, with their picturesque harbours, great shopping, pubs/restaurants and tourist attractions. Boat trips from Anstruther to The Isle of May are most popular.More

The cottage is lovely and cosy - loved the log burner and the convenience of being able to get more wood from outside and just leave money in the honesty box. The beds are very comfortable and the cottage had everything we could have needed....More

About the neighborhood
Take time to explore the beautiful coastline, either on a scenic drive through all the fishing villages, or why not try the Fife Coastal Walking Path. Treat yourself at the famous Anstruther Fish Bar, or why not take a day trip by boat to the Isle of May to see puffins, seals and numerous other sea birds. How about a day out at the beach at the West Sands at St. Andrews and recreate your own Chariots of Fire experience. Take the children to The Aquarium at St. Andrews for a fun day out or visit The Scottish Deer Centre. So much to see and enjoy for all your friends and family.
