Curlew Cottage is part of East Cambusmoon Farm, a 5 acre smallholding at the southern end of the world famous Loch Lomond. Completed in 2012 to highly sustainable standards and powered by renewable energy, the cottage offers superb levels of comfort and is well equipped for families and groups. For a break during your stay from our rural tranquility, Scotland’s two largest cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh are easily accessible and provide many wonderful diversions including excellent museums and cultural interest. Curlew cottage
Returned on the 16th July 2022 after a lovely relaxing stay at curlew cottage. The place was spotless and in a beautiful setting.the owners were very informative and easygoing.We had fresh bread and milk supplied!even some shortbread as well. The location is perfect for a base to explore with balloch 10minutes away with all the facilities you need inc shopping bars and restaurants.lovely walks around the loch and balloch castle.would definitely stop again!!

Lovely house in fantastic location !
Just spent a lovely few days in a stunning house in Gartocharn. Deborah is so we coming and the house is stunning with everything you need and in excellent location close enough to walk Down to the shore or up a hill Or 2 weather permitting! Great recommendations made the trip even More enjoyable ! Relax and enjoy the peaceful setting and then get out and about in the fabulous scenery! Highly recommend!

Ideal venue for a Scottish weekend away with friends
We had a fantastic stay here over a weekend with plenty of room for 12. Great outdoor area and under cover BBQ area if the weather turns! Very well finished house with all the facilities you need for a great weekend away with a group of mates. Easy to get to Glasgow or to Balloch for an evening out, and walking distancce to the Loch Lomond with activities (e.g. Shooting, Water sports, Whiskey Tasting) nearby too.

Great cottages in a fantastic location.
We really enjoyed our time ar Curlew cottage, where all of the facilities were top notch and high quality. Great views of the mountains around Loch Lomond from the Cottage, with the loch just a twenty minute walk away. Ideal for trips to Glasgow, with Edinburgh just over an hour away. Would recommend to any who are looking for access to both the highlands and the city.

Somewhere that makes me pine for home.
Took time finding the cottage on line and really worth the search. Nice entry to the cottages. Really friendly owners who were helpful and never intrusive. Cottage is lovely. Good spec. Excellent location. Just perfect for a break away. Great local walks. Cannot recommend the cottage highly enough and definitely booking again. Thanks for a perfect stay.

'Perfect family retreat - immaculate accommodation'
Wow! This is beautiful cottage. The perfect place for our two families to stay whilst in Loch Lomond for our niece's wedding. Extremely well maintained and lovely owners, who could not have been more helpfu, before, during and following our visit. We would highly recommend this property to anyone thinking of spending time in this stunning location.

Confy cottage in a beautiful location
This is a very nice cottage, decorated with taste, in a peaceful and charming location close to Loch Lomond. Best equiped kitchen I had for a long time. Our host was so helpful with us. Thank you, Deborah!

Comfortable, great location and relaxing
We had a great family get together from Dundee, Stornaway, London and Toulouse. The accommodation was exactly what we were looking for and the opportunities for fun on the Ben, in the Loch and the river at Luss were just what we wanted. Back at work today with sore legs, a bit bruised and tired, but thoroughly refreshed!

Awesome
Stayed between Boxing Day and New Year and was very very impressed by this place. Spotlessly clean and everything you could think of needing was provided. We were also left some goodies when we arrived which was extremely thoughtful and very appreciated. The location is great and within and hour you can get to some fab places, whether you like walking, climbing, shopping or pretty much anything else there is so much to do within the hours drive. We will 100% go back there.

Curlew Cottage is superbly well placed to explore this wonderfully scenic area. Walking and cycling from the door as well as outdoor and sporting activities abound with golf and water sports well provided for locally. Scotland's two largest cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh are easily accessible and provide many wonderful diversions including excellent museums and cultural interest and Stirling is also just a short drive away. The iconic Loch Lomond is within walking distance and one of the best views of the Loch is from Duncryne Hill, the top of which is just 20 minutes walk from the front door.

How to get there
Glasgow International Airport is our nearest airport and is about a 25 minute drive away, whilst Prestwick and Edinburgh International airports are each about a 60 minute drive away. All are well served by the low cost airlines whilst Glasgow and Prestwick are also served by BA and BMI. Although in a rural location we are well placed for trips in all directions on the A road network. If you arrive by train it is easy to get a taxi or bus to the cottages. For cyclists we can usually meet you at Balloch station to assist with your luggage.
