beautiful setting
The cottage is perfect for a couple, located in the most beautiful area and within easy reach of local amenities. There were beautiful walks from the cottage in the surrounding woods and down to the lake shore. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who lives on site. If you are looking for a quiet spot surrounded by breath taking countryside views this is the spot for you. We will definitely be back as this was perfect for exploring Loch Lomond and for hill walking in the area.

A great little cottage
We had a lovely stay at the Lorn Mill. It was a clean cottage with everything we needed including a welcome pack! We walked down to the shore of Loch Lomond from the cottage too. It’s a very peaceful setting and Lopez the dog is an added bonus!

Beautiful peaceful haven for busy lives!!
We have just returned from a lovely 6 night stay at Lui Cottage.
Claire and her husband are fantastic hosts who are there for any questions you have about your stay and the local area.
The cottage is beautifully located in very peaceful countryside with the most incredible views over Loch Lomond from the garden and driveway. It was the perfect quiet base for exploring Loch Lomond and the Trossachs and also the surrounding areas but with easy access to plenty of restaurants and supermarkets for your everyday needs. The cottage was spotless and a lovely welcome basket awaited us on arrival.
It was always a pleasure to come home to the cottage after a full day of exploring to relax and get a good night sleep ready for the next day of adventures.
Claire was kind enough to show us round the larger cottage before we left as we would love to come back again and I have to say that the larger cottage is even more stunning with the full benefit of the views across the Loch.
Thank you for a fantastic stay and we will be back!!

Tranquility in a beautiful surroundings
Was staying in the Alders cottage from 26th to 30th December.
The welcome from Claire the owner was warm and couldn't ask for a more pleasant stay. I only have one gripe... there was no snow :) but the weather was mild so the 45min to 1hr walk to Balloch from the cottage was good and was able to take in the country ambience, once there you have plenty of places to eat & drink.
The cottage itself was clean and beautifully furnished to give it a cosy feel and I felt at home straightaway. The little touch of a Christmas tree was spot on and the welcome pack of prosecco and panettone was much appreciated.
Can't wait to book again as there was still more I would have liked to see and do around the area.
I would highly recommend booking a staying here.
To relax even more I managed to also book prior to my arrival a massage with The Secret Therapist in nearby Alexandria which made my chilled few days complete :)

Brilliant!!!!
My daughter and I stayed here (mother and daughter time). We had cottage no. 3. The welcome on arrival was so lovely, we had a welcome hamper of goodies and everything we needed was provided in the cottage.
If you leave the cottages and head right down the private path, the views of Loch Lomond and walk are simply amazing, we didn't want to leave. It was snowing here which made it extra special too. If you are a keen walker, you can follow the private path down, and head into town, (going through Balloch Castle Country Park)....we took our time walking and managed to get into town in around 40 minutes or so.
Enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic Location
Gorgeous cottages overlooking Loch Lomond. The owner, Claire, is very warm and welcoming, she greeted us on arrival and made sure to speak to us again before we left. This is the second time we have been to Lorne Mill and cannot recommend it enough. The views are amazing and the cottages very well equipped. It was bliss to sit in the evening with the only noise the clock ticking.

Amazing
Wonderful cottage with beautiful views. Couldn't believe how quiet it was. I mean really really quiet! Absolute bliss. Some great walks around the area and so lucky to have access to the surrounding grounds and woods. The walk into Balloch (about 3 miles) is well worth it. Look out for bench in the trees which offers some nice views over the Loch. It is possible to walk down to the Loch from the cottage although we went the wrong way but ended up following a path that took us on a nice walk through the woods. A good base for exploring. There is a train from Balloch (free parking) to Glasgow at a very reasonable £5.60 return. The owner Claire is such a lovely person. Very warm and welcoming. We felt very much at home. Cant wait to go back next year.

Quiet, cosy retreat in beautiful location
Really lovely old stone cottages at the foot of loch lomond - as part of the directions Claire sent us she mentioned rounding the corner to a stunning view over the loch before descending down to the cottages and she was spot on! Claire was the perfect landlord - there to greet us on arrival, around for a friendly chat (and useful local recommendations!) when required, but otherwise left us to it.
Cottage itself was well equipped and so so quiet inside thanks to the 3 foot thick stone walls. These did mean not a lot of natural light inside but you can get plenty of that outside gazing over the loch or on the numerous walks and activities available nearby.
Location wise we found it the perfect place to use as a base to explore the surrounding area, and while small would recommend nearby Balmaha for its coffee shop and pub restaurant.
It was a lovely retreat from the busy-ness of day to day life and we'd thoroughly recommend you to visit!
