A step back in time just 200 yards from Lulworth Cove. Rose Cottage is a delightful self-contained thatched property with three double bedrooms, one twin and a child`s twin (Single). Proximity to Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast and all its spectacular scenery and secret beaches, makes this an ideal choice for the extended family holiday. Delightful gardens with sea views are an additional attraction. Lulworth Cove is only 200yds away. Vehicular access time the immediate Cove area is restricted which makes this a safe walk road walk. Above the cottage is Bindon Hill, immediately above Lulworth Cove, accessible now from Bindon Road 300yds by footpath from the cottage This is a wild flower and butterfly paradise for the keen nature lover. Walk straight out onto the Jurassic Coastal Walks it just potter in the Cove area. In the last few years we have re-thatched the cottage and modernised all the bathrooms. We have given the cottage a touch of modernity with a lovely extended kitchen which makes an ideal family centre with a large kitchen table. Patio doors directly into the back courtyard make a barbecue an attractive option. We have retained the formal dining room for special occasions, or it can just be used as a quiet place to sit with a book or computer. A comfortable sitting room with deep arm chairs and log burning stove makes this a particularly lovely winter/Christmas venue. The cottage has also been used as a base for wedding parties using nearby Lulworth Castle. Linen and logs are provided. Children and dogs are most welcome. We have a cot and high chair, as well as three z-beds for all those children. The cottage sleeps up to 9 adults comfortably - and is still a lovely place to stay with a smaller party. The longer the stay the better the deal and smaller groups will receive favourable discounts mid-week and off season. There is free view television with integral DVD in the Sitting Room and unlimited WiFi. There is a large garden that rises high above the cottage with sea views. The small and enclosed front garden is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Lulworth Cove is only 200yds down the road and the Jurassic Coastal path sets off westwards directly from the front door! Tourist License / Licencia de turismo N °: YR186133DMore

We will always be at the property to greet you and show you round or we will find another family member or trusted friend who can do this for us. We live close by and will always be on hand to solve problems quickly. We have lived in the area for more than 40 years and can give you tips on places to see and areas to explore. There is so much to see and do in this part of Dorset you will not have time to be bored.

There are 4 good things about Rose Cottage. 1.Location - a few minutes walk from the cove 2.It sleeps up to 10 people and we were 6 adults and 4 young children. 3 A large modern kitchen with space to seat 10 4. A large safe garden. We had come from all over ( Germany, Somerset and Cornwall)o meet up here for 3 days and frankly were disappointed with the house because it clearly needed a lot of attention. It was full of cobwebs in places, had threadbare carpet on the stairs and was generally shabby and tired looking .We discussed with the owner who said amongst other things that her cleaner didn't like spiders.....! For the number of people the lounge in the evening was also quite restrictive. Despite these concerns we made the most of our time together and enjoyed the area.

My partner booked this cottage for a few days away and it was perfect. It's just a few steps from Lulworth Cove with the beach and choice of places to eat. We enjoyed the local pubs and the ice cream parlours. There are roses around the door and a beautiful garden that stretching up the hillside behind, with tables and chairs for outside dining, and apple trees. Large airy kitchen, cosy sitting room and lovely formal dining room. There's something for everyone. Upstairs, pretty bedrooms with double and single beds. We immediately felt at home and so did the friends who shared our stay.

We all had a lovely time, beach is within walking distance. We enjoyed staying in a charming, cosy and delightful cottage, we loved the garden, the views are spectacular. Very well situated for exploring the area. Catriona is a friendly, helpful and kind host. We would visit again. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Charming character thatched cottage, well equipped great for a family gathering, minutes walk from the cottage to the beautiful cove, perfect location also for the start of other walks. Catriona the owner very helpful, would definitely go back.

We had a lovely time. The house was perfect for 2 families to get together. Lots of space and great amenities. The log fire was lovely too.

This is a beautiful place, very short walk to Lulworth bay, fresh fish sold near the cottage,we had lobster, crabs, Brill, John Dory and sardines, there was 10 of us all part of the family, There is so much to see all within a short drive, The reason I scored 4 stars was purely because to me it was not modern enough, but having said that we have already booked and paid our deposit for 2019

Catriona was aware that we had booked Rose Cottage for an early family Christmas. She very thoughtfully decorated the cottage for us with a tree and all the trimmings: a lovely welcome for us. The cottage is ideally located for Lulworth Cove; we were lucky as we had a superbly sunny walk to the beach then along the coast to Durdle Door. What an amazing place!!! We had our dog with us: plenty of room in the hallway for her bed, a hilly garden is good for early morning and late evening walks. The walk we did was perfect for dogs - the cliff is fenced - she only needed the lead near the sheer cliffs at Durdle Door.

Rose Cottage was perfect for our annual walking trip. Walks straight from the door, a beautiful beach, pubs and visitor centre a stone's throw from the front door. The cottage was warm and charming, beds extremely comfortable (very important after those long walks!) and good strong showers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you Catriona!

Rose Cottage is a great place to stay. We loved sitting out in the raised garden, with the views over the house of the dramtoc hill opposite. Catriona was extremely helpful prior to and upon arrival.

About the neighborhood
10 miles from the Market Town of Wareham, Lulworth Cove with its perfectly scalloped shape, is a world famous landmark in the heart of the Jurassic Coast. Other places of interest in the locality are Corfe Castle, the Swanage Steam Railway, Swanage and Weymouth, traditional Seaside Towns with many attractions, the Tank Museum at Bovington Camp and of course the now famous Monkey World. Bird lovers will find us well situated for the RSPB reserves at Arne, Radipole Lake and Studland Heath. The coastal walks are rich in Wild Flowers and Butterflies, This is an ideal location for photography and painting.
Getting around
Lulworth is remote and car is the most convenient form of transport. From London take M3 M27 to Ringwood and A30 or A35 to Wareham or Bere Regis. A352 to Wool where the B3070 leads direct to West Lulworth. There is a village taxi that will meet you at Wool Station if you come by train. SW Trains from London Waterloo. From the North come to Poole from Birmingham via Oxford and from the West, Exeter or Bristol, changing at Dorchester East a short walk across the town to Dorchester South. There is a regular bus from Dorchester and occasionally from Wool Station. X53 Jurassic bus and National Coaches stop at Wool Station.

How to get there
Lulworth Cove is set in the heart of the Jurassic Coast and is accessible on foot from Swanage or Weymouth passing through spectacular cliff top countryside. By train from Waterloo to Wool Station, (Weymouth Train, front four coaches). Taxis and occasional buses are available at Wool Station. By Car. 2 1/2 hours from London leaving via M3 and M27 A31 to Bere Regis, direction West Lulworth, Lulworth Cove B3071, crossing the A352 at Wool. On arrival in West Lulworth, pass right through the village (houses both sides of the road), travel 200yds direction Lulworth Cove 1/4 mile, on the left find small slip road with limited access. The cottage is on the slip road and is sign posted. Parking is opposite the cottage with space for 3 cars.
