Overview
Cottage -
3 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms , Sleeps 7
Woolacombe, Devon, England
Our 400 year old cottage is in the lovely North Devon village of West Down.
Packed with original features such as the inglenook fireplace and wood floors this cosy cottage is equally welcoming in the heart of winter as coming in straight off the beach.

There are 3 Bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms and an extra downstairs toilet. Downstairs has 2 reception rooms with SKY TV and a country kitchen & Utility room.

There are some restrictions with the bed layout. The two upper bunk beds are only suitable for children. We can arrange for an additional double sofa bed (in the biggest bedroom) to be made up at an extra cost if your party is all adults or you want extra beds to a maximum of nine guests.

A walled garden gives you somewhere safe to play or sit and enjoy a summer BBQ, watching village life go on around you.

In the barn there is some...

Reviewed September 9, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We found Leigh cottage was a beautiful appointed period cottage, modernised to a high standard set within a rural village location. The local pub serves delicious food and is less than 200 metres away. The community shop serves freshly baked pastries a real treat, but not so good for the waistline! The beaches of Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Putsborough are within...

Reviewed August 17, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Leigh cottage is a charming building that's decorated and equipped to a high standard. The kitchen in particular has all the mod cons so is a pleasure to cook in, although the only thing we noticed it lacking is normal baking trays, leading to us cooking chips in cup cake trays - but it was no biggie. The village of...

About the neighborhood
Just a few miles inland is the vast Exmoor National Park with unrivalled beauty if its a stiff coastal walk along the cliff paths or a ramble over the moors, as long as you always follow it with a Pub Lunch. Lynton & Lynmouth is worth a visit to explore this Victorian favourite. Walk along the river from Watersmeet and take teh clif top railway, powered by water & gravity.

The harbour at Ilfracombe is worth a visit with its Victorian sea front and boat trips to Lundy or perhaps a half day fishing. It also boasts the exclusive restaurant owned by the famous artist Damion Hirst. His statue called VERITY stands majestically looking our to sea.
