I couldn’t recommend this cottage more. Ideal size for a family if 4. It was very clean and had absolutely everything we needed. The location is fantastic with access to loads of local amenities. I highly recommend the local shop and ‘The Cleave’ pub. We didn’t manage to get to the tea rooms but it also looked brilliant. The owners were fantastic with the booking which we had to change several times due to COVID restrictions, would definitely recommend and book again!

Little Holme is a pretty cottage however due to bad weather conditions we arrived late at night and everywhere was in darkness. It would have helped had a light been on in the porch so instead of looking like cat burglars virtually feeling our way around trying to find the cottage in pitch black. The first thing I would like to say is that had it not have been so late I would not have stayed there even a night. When we went to bed there was hairs all in the bed. The bedding had been washed but not to a good standard and there was horrible black hairs. Because it was so late and we could not have gone elsewhere we had no choice but to brush the hairs out which is not something I recommend doing especially in this Covid time. Had we arrived earlier I would have left then and there. The cottage had everything we needed except wi fi for the first couple of days, then it suddenly worked! Believe me we tried everything to get it going as you get no signal for a mobile there. Not ideal in case of an emergency not even having a phone there. There was a little electric fire but we were still cold. There were logs for the wood burner but no kindling to get it alight which was a shame and would have loved to have had the log burner going. When going to the bathroom the extractor fan was so noisy I should think the whole village must have heard, not ideal. I know it was end of season but when renting somewhere it most certainly should not be like we found it. Dirty glasses, chipped crockery and grubby furniture. The village itself is very pretty and lovely to walk around though.

We are so sorry you had problems. There is a PIR light in the porch which should have lit up the porch, which I put new batteries in in October. I will have another look when we return at the end of the lockdown next month. One of the charms of Lustleigh and Dartmoor is the absence of street lighting. Everyone nowadays seems like you to have a mobile phone, usually with a torch. We just cannot understand the hairs in the bed. The laundry is professionally washed at a laundry in Heathfield, near Bovey Tracey and arrives in an enclosed pack. On heating, there is under floor heating on at all times and two spare fan heaters in the cupboard in the little bedroom plus convector heaters. We do not advertise we provide “free” logs or kindling. Not everyone wants them. Both and fire-lighters can be bought locally. No one has ever complained about the lack of heating before. On WiFi we do not understand why it was not working. We and guests had been in Lustleigh during October and there were no problems . We do know there has recently been a total collapse of WiFi in parts of Devon. This may be the reason as the only access to the router is from inside Little Holme. We are glad, however, that you enjoyed the village and walks. Brian and Zoe

We have just come back from a 4 night stay and it was perfect. The cottage is delightful, very clean and tidy inside, with lovely local amenities (The Cleave pub was brilliant) and stunning countryside walks. My booking was easy to make and I was kept fully updated with clear instructions for arrival etc. Would definitely recommend, thank you Little Holme cottage for a very enjoyable holiday.

Spent a fantastic week at Little Holme, what a lovely cottage. Fabulous walks straight from the door. The views from Hound Tor and Hunters Tor and Ripon Tor are amazing. Friends owners. The Primrose Tea rooms are a must and are next door! A wonderful week. Thank you.

I think Devin is the nation's loveliest county and the Teign valley is the loveliest part of Devon. Lustleigh is an utter gem of a village and this cottage is a beauty. So, all that says rather a lot! The cottage is pretty small; a small kitchen, a nice little sitting room with a fire burning stove. Upstairs is a nice double bedroom with a small second bedroom that could take two young kids. The bathroom is fine. However, it is the walks around Lustleigh which are the true highlights. Coming back and popping into the Cleave for a pint is bliss. We never could find the wi-fi code (is there wifi in the cottage?) But we decided not to pursue it because a few days without the internet did us good. Phone reception in the cottage is poor to non-existent as well. Once again, we did not care. Tine away from the phone is a wonderful thing.

We had a wonderful few days at Little Holme. The cottage is set in the heart of the village of Lustleigh and within a few steps of the pub, Tea shop, village stores and church (in priority order). Little Holme is very well equipped with everything you need including a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge - a lovely touch. The rooms are quite small but well furnished and cosy with very tasteful furniture and decor. Parking the car could sometimes be a minor challenge at busy times but we always managed to find somewhere nearby without any problems, usually near the church. We would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area as it is a great base fo exploring Dartmore and beyond.

About the neighborhood
Lustleigh is one of the prettiest villages in England set on the edge of Dartmoor in an area wonderful for walking, cycling and riding. The coast is nearby as are the historic towns of Exeter and Plymouth. Golf and fishing can be enjoyed in the neighbourhood.
Getting around
There are buses to Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead. Details on line. These could be used with the walking/cycling route from Bovey Tracey to Moretonhampstead via Lustleigh for a pleasant relatively level walk. Downhill from Moretonhampstead!
