Buckfastleigh, Dartmoor National Park, Devon, England
A beautiful, 18th Century cottage, bursting with original features, with a private South facing garden next to a river.

Positioned in a quite private lane, just off Buckfastleigh high street, River Garden Cottage provides a bright, relaxing, characterful home, ideal for exploring the wonderful Devon countryside by day before returning for cosy evenings in by the log burning fire.
Stepping into the open-plan living, kitchen and dining area, you'll find an abundance of exposed stonework, oak flooring and beams, matched with rustic and original furniture and fittings.
A short distance from the cottage is a private lawned garden, with a seating area over looking the fast flowing River Mardle.

Well equipped, comfy, cosy cottage in the centre of Buckfastleigh with a lovely riverside garden to go with. We couldn’t have asked for more to start our hooneymoon.

The mid 19th century was the town's most prosperous period, when there were seven mills active, supplemented by some coaching inns for travellers to and from Plymouth.

At Buckfast, about a mile to the north, is Buckfast Abbey. Founded in the 11th century by King Canute, the Abbey has a fascinating history and is now an active Benedictine Monastery - the only monastery in the UK open to the public.

From the station you can catch a steam train on the South Devon Railway heritage line along the Dart Valley to Totnes or the Buckfast Heritage Bus to the Abbey and the town. Next to the station is Buckfast Butterflies and Dartmoor Otters fo...
