There are many large supermarkets on the fringe of Brixham, but you will also find a Co-op and a Tesco Express on the highstreet (a three minute walk away), which will provide you with everything you need for your entire holiday.

Interaction with guests: We are the Acres family, and we started renting out our holiday home in March 2019. We hope that you will love it, just as much as we do! When you arrive at our cottage, you'll find a key-safe to the left of the door (I’ll contact you with the code a few days before your holiday). We are also there at the end of the phone, and are always happy to help you with your every need.
Inside, you'll find a welcome pack (tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits & wine), cleaning essentials, bedding, towels and t-towels. You'll also find business cards, postcards and brochures of the local area.
Please enjoy the complimentary free WiFi, 2 Smart TVs, our cosy log-burning stove, Nintendo Wii, books, dvds and our sunny courtyard.
Welcome . . .
This is a lovely cottage with everything you need for a great stay in Brixham. A well appointed kitchen, there is even an ice bucket! Comfortable beds and a view of the harbour from the top floor. A small courtyard area, we didn’t use that much as we went in March!
It is an old cottage so mind your head as you clime the stairs.
Brixham is a quaint old fishing town that still has a lot of working fishing boats and a marina for leisure boats. The town itself is very steep and famous for it’s steps, it keeps you fit.

Can’t wait to return
Salty’s Cottage was just perfect for our weekend break, with everything that we needed and more! The location was perfect, with a short walk down the steps to the High Street and The Harbour. The house was beautifully presented and very clean. Our daughters loved their room at the top of the house! We had some lovely wallks, nice meals and cosy evenings by the log burner, just what we needed and we will definitely be back.

A wonderful cottage in a great location. Clean and well presented. A great host offering lots of insights into the area to ensure a lovely holiday. Brixham is a friendly and welcoming harbour town. Some great places to eat. Lovely coastal walks. Dog friendly. Thank you Anya.

Fantastic
The beautiful coves, everyone was so friendly. The shops were close by and the scenery was spectacular. The cottage had everything you needed, a home from home. Definitely be going again.

Perfect and pet friendly
Salty's Cottage is fantastic and has everything that you need, Brixham is stunning, the restaurants are amazing, the location is spot on, lots of coastal walks and coves to explore and Anya is a brilliant host who gives you loads of information.

Short break at Salty’s, Brixham
Another amazing stay at Salty’ s
The weather was perfect which made our stay even more enjoyable .
Anya was so helpful as always / thank you
The cottage is a must to visit - a stones throw from the harbour and town .
There is the use of a garage which we found very useful - very close to the cottage .
I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone - this was our second visit and will definitely be visiting again .

Family friendly, Warm and Inviting
Wonderful family holiday. The cottage had everything we needed, it was clean and fresh. The cottage is centrally located in Brixham and all the sights and activities are easily accessible.

New year's stay
Absolutely fantastic property, really close to the harbour!!
We have stayed in Brixham every year for 10+ years between Xmas and Nye and I believe the perfect rental doesn't exist in Brixham, but this is as close as it gets to perfect, and soon to have its own parking space!!!
We slept on the top floor and our daughter loved it. All rooms are very comfortable especially the living room with the log burner 👍.
But the biggest plus to this property is the owner Anya, she was fantastic above anything else she just wants you to enjoy your stay.

Completely Perfect
The description of Salty’s Cottage is so accurate that there nothing to add - other than how helpful and caring Anya is. I’d really like to add how welcoming the cottage feels, how everything is in the right place and how, after a day out exploring, you walk up The Temperance Steps and know you’re home. Turn the soft lighting and the radio on, light the fire, and snuggle down for perfect evenings. I had such a perfect stay that I didn’t want to leave and am already planning my return.

The English Riveria, where Brixham is located, boasts many warm and sunny months. The Brixham area is surrounded by lovely dog-walking areas, particularly at Berry Head, (where you'll also find Shoalstone outdoor swimming pool).
Between Churston Golf Club and Brixham harbour, you'll find Churston Cove. It's easily walkable from the town, and it's a beautifully secluded cove, with lots of crabbing and seal-spotting opportunities. It's dog-friendly, and is great for snorkelling and kayaking.
Brixham has a plentiful amount of bars and restaurants, our favourite being Rockfish, which also offers tours of the fishmarket.
Finally, let's not forget the local artisan market twice a week, and of course, the 'Pirate Festival' in May!
Getting around
Please note, that once you have found a parking spot (there is plenty of roadside parking in the area around the top of the steps), there is no need to drive anywhere else for the rest of the week! You can catch regular ferries to Dartmouth & Torquay, directly from the harbour (£3.50 return). Alternatively, why not spend the day on a 'Round Robin' trip, where you can travel via stream train, ferry and bus; again, without even having to move your car!

How to get there
Typing the postcode, TQ5 9TR, will lead you to the area of Mount Pleasant Road, Windmill Hill, North View Road and Jacolind Walk.
It is recommended that once you are on Mount Pleasant Road, that you keep following it round, driving past a blue and white cottage called 'Harbour Breeze'. You will then pass a converted church called 'Fisherman's Church', and directly after it on the left, you will find the top of 'Temperance Place's' steps. 'Salty's' is about 8 steps down, with a handrail on the right.
Once you've dropped your bags off, it is recommended that you return to Mount Pleasant Road or Mount Road, where you'll find plenty of roadside parking.
