Bru Na Mara is a very nice place for enjoying the sea, the air and the surrounding beautiful nature of Connemara. It is a beautiful and cosy location at the end of a little road. The seaview with some little isles is salving. We felt very comfortable and being welcomed by Riona. Her information helped us to discover local places...

Pros: very quiet, near the ocean, very good houses for a reasonable price, very welcoming hostess, free wi-fi. Cons: hard to find the way, far from Galway. Resume: A very nice place to pass the holidays.

It`s so hard to say about it in the past. We were in Ireland for the first time and fell in love with it at first sight and forever. Especially it concerns to Connemara and Bru na Mara. Bru Na Mara is 5 km South West of Carna village beside Mace Pier. Go through the village of Carna, take the first left turn after approximately 2.5 km west of Carna. At the next Y junction keep right and turn right at the next junction after approximately 300 metres. From Galway City take the N59 (the Clifden road) to one mile west of Recess village. Turn left onto the R340 and continue to Carna Village. Drive through Carna village, heading west for aproximately 2 miles until you reach the first junction, then take a left, at the top of the steep winding hill keep right at the Y junction. After about 500 metres, turn right at the next junction, and continue until you reach Bru Na Mara at the pier where you can check in.
