If you're looking for peace and tranquility, this cabin is for you! We booked a 7 night stay and loved every minute of it. It is conveniently located halfway between the northern and southern Black Hills. Kitchen utensils were plentiful and stove/refrigerator/coffee pot were in working order. This rustic cabin has been beautifully renovated. We particularly enjoyed the stone gas fireplace which quickly warmed the entire cabin up on chilly mornings. And, sitting on the front porch in the evenings looking at the mountains in the distance was bliss. Thank you Mary and Mark for sharing your wonderful cabin with us.

A wonderful find.
This cabin is set in the peaceful setting of the Black Hills. It was so easy to find and its location is just so quiet and relaxing with a view to die for. The cabin had everything we needed. A well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, plenty of hot water, two bathrooms and good wifi (for those that needed it) It was so relaxing sitting outside in an evening with a cold beer watching the sun go down. I only wish we had had longer there. We didn't have much time unfortunately to explore the area around the cabin as it was our first time in America and we were off on day trips. It is central to many popular attractions and I can recommend this holiday rental to anyone visiting South Dakota. Can't wait to visit again and hopefully stay for longer.

Serenity in the Black Hills
Wonderful place to stay, whether you have two people or six. Very comfortable and peaceful. We could have easily stayed there for much longer. Mary was very responsive to any questions that we had. Highly recommend!

Great Cabin, great hosts
We spent 5 nights at Mark and Mary’s cabin. The location is good for access to all the sites in the Black Hills. The cabin is well stocked, comfortable, and filled with our hosts’ fabulous art. Mark and Mary were great to talk to, but not at all intrusive. I might take a quarter star off, for slow WiFi and only 2 television stations, but that was not the point of the trip. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Cozy little cabin
Cabin was awesome, we loved staying there. The weather was really cold and we stayed nice and warm. We want to stay again when the weather is warmer and we can get outdoors more and see things.

Off the Grid Amazing!
Creative Couple, super fabulous place to stay and relax. Great place to go for seclusion and quite relaxation. Nice to unplug from technology and enjoy family time. Looking at the stars and the fireflies and scenery is spectacular. Thanks for offering such a nice place to stay! Hope to come and stay again!

Loved it!!!
If you are looking for a nice little cabin out in the Black Hills where you can kick back and relax, this is definitely the place for you. We had a girls weekend away here, and we couldn't have been happier with the place. A very relaxing atmosphere, and the cabin is well stocked with the basics for a nice vacation.

Cozy and quite out-of-the-way cabin
My family (with 3 kids under 7) and my in-laws loved this cabin! The grounds are meticulous and tidy with planted flowers and mowed grass. The cabin was clean and very well stocked with everything we needed (plenty of bed linens, towels, books, chairs, kitchen supplies, etc). The cabin is near Nemo, in a gorgeous area but off a windy road, so keep that in mind if anyone in your group gets carsick. The location is a nice break from the tourist jumble in other areas of the black hills. The hosts live on-property in another building, and are friendly and welcoming and we definitely felt like we had plenty of privacy. Loved it! Thanks for a great stay!

Peaceful Getaway
Great cabin tucked away in the woods. After a busy day exploring all the Black Hills have to offer, this provided a tranquil resting place. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching deer, birds and the sunrise. It has plenty of room for the kids to run and explore. We also had fun "fishing" in the pond near the cabin. Wonderful stay!

Wonderful
Everything was amazing and beautiful. Relaxing and breathtaking. The cabin had everything we needed. We felt right at home. Mark and Mary are amazing hosts. Even Donner and Dasher greeted us everyday. The cabin was warm and inviting. We can't wait to get back again in the fall.

About the neighborhood
The cabin is nestled under tall pines on the edge of a strikingly beautiful and secluded Black Hills meadow. The view from the front porch across a sweep of pasture, ringed by steep rock ridges and dense pine and spruce, is punctuated be a sheer white limestone cliff rising in the distance. This private little valley is graced by Jim Creek. The diverse flora and quietly tumbling creek attract a wide variety of Black Hills animals and birds.
