If you are looking for a place to escape and get back to nature with family and friends, we offer our three-bedroom mountain cabin. The unpaved lane from the main road deadends just past the cabin in the Moshannon State Forest providing access to nearly 200,000 acres of wooded mountain wilderness.
Situated on eight private acres, deer, turkey, fox and an occasional bear have been known to make their way past the Lodge. With luck, the creatures may decide to mosey through the yard during your stay.
Cedarwood Lodge is a charming post-and-beam cabin with a screened-in porch, small deck, picnic table, gas grill and campfire pit. Firewood is supplied for the indoor wood burner and for starting the pit fire. Guests are asked to gather firewood from the surrounding forest to keep ...

Love this cabin
This is the second time we have stayed in this cabin. Very quiet retreat to relax and unwind from everyday life. Love sitting by the fire pit in the back surrounded by nature. The owner has fresh baked goods for your first morning breakfast. Which are delish. No internet or cable but is nice to go off the grid. There is a small tv and movies at the cabin, but we take our own. The loft bedroom is beautiful to wake up to feels like a tree house. Full kitchen with everything you need just take your own food. Bonus we were allowed to take two fur babies with us they loved hanging on the screened in back porch and nature watch. If you just want to get away for a peaceful getaway this is the place.

Hi, Deborah - It was a pleasure to host your second stay at the cabin.
Thank you for the detailed description of your stay, highlighting the things you especially enjoyed - the fire pit, fires, loft bedroom feeling like waking up in a tree house, and my homemade bread and baked goods!
We have loved sharing our cabin with visitors from all over the world. The day of your departure, a family from the Netherlands arrived at Cedarwood Lodge for their visit to the PA Wilds! Thank you again for taking time to submit the review. I hope you will come back again! All the best to you and yours ---->Peggy

About the neighborhood
THE PENNSYLVANIA WILDS
Clearfield County serves as a gateway to the Pennsylvania Wilds, a rural 12-county region with as much public land as Yellowstone National Park and virtually unlimited outdoor recreation opportunities - beautiful rivers, forests, robust wildlife, rich oil and lumber history and authentic small towns.
Whether it is birding, biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, elk-viewing, sight-seeing, geocaching, golfing, swimming, or cross-country skiing that catches your fancy, you can do it in Clearfield County. The All-American town of Clearfield is the county seat, named for the "clear fields" made by the large number of bison that once inhabited the area.
Located just off PA I-80 Exit 111, four to five hours from New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Toronto. Two to three hours from Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Erie.
Spend the weekend or a week exploring our Backwoods, Backroads and Backwaters!
We are happy to help you plan your itinerary so as to make the most of your visit to the Pennsylvania Wilds.
