Escape778 is set on 50 acres. The guests have the sole use of the guest house, we only take one booking at a time so you will have privacy and seclusion. We reside on site, you will only see us if you require assistance (eg Where are the pool table balls kept?), contact us via mobile phone or sms message. We usually meet and greet our guests (depending upon their arrival time or we leave the key in a key box for you to access.) we give you a 5 minute tour then we leave you to relax and enjoy the property.

Amazing views, beautiful location. Perfect hosts, what else can you ask for? Highly recommend. Great place to escape too. Very clean and tidy. Have stayed at Escape778 many times. I have always left feeling spoilt.

About the neighborhood
Escape778 is set on 50 acres in the Illawarra Escarpment.
The local area is renowned for its lush green pastures and its close proximity to Wollongong and Shellharbour which are 20 minutes away and 10 minutes from The Illawarra Regional Airport and Albion Park Railway station.(we offer complimentary transfers).
10 minutes away you will find a large Woolworths supermarket, a butcher, cake shop, variety store, Drs surgery, pharmacy, bread shop, optometrist, barbers, day spa, florist, petrol station, newsagency plus a RSL and Bowling club, a Hotel and over 8 takeaways for your convenience.
5 minutes away is Mahbrook Organics Farm plus Kareela Berry farm.
The accommodation has a range of local tourism brochures and maps for your convenience.
Getting around
A car woud be preferable but it depends on the nature of your stay.
We have guets who stay for a week and never leave the property.
If you wish to sightsee the local area we would suggest you have a car.
However if you are arriving via air, rail or bus you can stay as many days as you like without a car.
We can fully stock the pantry with supplies (extra cost) for your stay or you can order home delivery.
Included in the price is a generous supply of breakfast provisions

Airport: Illawarra Regional Airport: 6.8 mi
Railway: Albion Park Rail railway station: 6.8 mi
You will be driving on roads through rural pastures on your way to Escape778.
From the corner of Marshall Mount & Calderwood roads it is approx 3.4 km's to our mailbox hut. Travel from this point along Calderwood road, it veers right and down over a concrete causeway and up a short tarmac road over a cattle grate to our mailbox hut. Stay to the right of the hut, Travel for 900 metres to the top of the hill,(Grey gates on your right at the top of the hill is our neighbour), continue 100 metres up the gravel road to your destination. (The road to the accommodation is a steep private farm road and is made up of tarmac, concrete and gravel. If you are unsure of driving on rural farm roads, we are only to happy to meet you at the Mailbox hut and assist you.)
